GRAND DAD's ROLEX - Please Identify

I do not know how to open the back to look for a serial number. I have looked everywhere online for years for a similar watch and have never seen one. I was offered $1000 by a watch dealer in LA, but I suspect it is worth much more. email Paula paulajames2@yahoo.com

I think the dealer was right on the money.

Just Google Rolex Precision and you'll find tons of them.

Cool watch, and welcome! $1000 is spot on. Looks like a non-oyster 1950's model.

that price is fair, it needs some work by the looks of it, not a rare model, but nice regards

Very good price that dealer gave you and beautiful watch. All she needs is a nice servicing and a new crystal and she'll be looking like a million bucks! Enjoy her.

It is not worth much more. In fact, with the dial as it is, and on a rather non-collectible gold snap-back dress model, I think he may have been overly generous. You should run and take the money.

Fixed up a bit, though, and it'd be a great watch to wear around in tribute to your grandpa.

Very fair price, old watch, but not any sort of holy grail....

+1. Nice but nothing special. Ebay will not bring you more I assume.

Interesting. I have two of my grandfather's watches (a Patek and a Lord Elgin), and would never consider selling them.
