I know what you mean, not fresh from the AD and you feel less invested. Easier to let go. Glad you found that beautiful 5205r to fill the spot.

I have to ask, what made you move away from lange? You seemed to be such a proponent if I recall correct.

Reason I ask is I've been wanting a lange 1 or 1815, but have been on the fence for a couple years running.

I thought for a couple of minutes before I could answer your question, because I didn't plan deliberately that the Lange brand had to come out of my stable, they are and will be awesome watches! I think the reason is because in my 3 watch collection set up it just didn't fit. Meaning for a Daily wear I didn't want anything different that 5712, I just love that reference and went with the rose gold version. I didn't want a Lange for a beater that's why I have the Hulk. And then the spot for a Dress/Complicated watch my Lange Timezone didn't seem the right choice for that spot, it worked great before when co-existed with my 5146g but just by itself didn't sing to me.
Plus with Patek you have better re-sale and more demand from people, so if I ever decide to depart from any of watches : to swap , sell or whatever it will be so much easier to do (Patek and Rolex) than with other brands.

Thanks for the insight. I find myself sticking to Rolex and PP when shopping as well for the same reason. It sure helps that they make some beautiful watches.

I will have to give lange a go either way some day and find out for myself.

Yeah sometimes you have to experience it to know what you want, but it's part of the fun
