Pepsi or Black and Red?

This may sound really stupid, but which GMT-II should I get for my fiance? I have no idea what I'm doing, since I know nothing about Rolex, but I want him to love it. Pepsi or Black and Red? Any other suggestions/ideas would be great!

Unfortunately, I don't think you 'll find any Coke or Pepsi anymore - so no need to worry ...

What about the new GMT-IIc?

I have found both- so I am trying to pick which one... I know he liked these, because he looked at them back when we were looking at engagement rings, but I just don't know which one to get! Thank you for the other suggestion- I will look into it!

Tif, one of the great things about the 16710 is the ability to change the inserts. Personally I would opt for the RED/BLUE first as these were the original GMT colors....and then get the other inserts as you can.

Hi there,
This is my first post. I would go for the Pepsi dial, are you talking about the recent model or thinking about vintage? I love the vintage edition, the black and red is generally called coke dial, and after that you even have a root beer dial. Getting him a fantastic Pepsi dial maybe something you try to ween him off in the future because it can lead to a costly addiction :)

When I bought mine, there were two Pepsis and two Cokes. I ultimately picked the Pepsi although I liked the Coke colors better because I felt the Pepsi colors were more iconic to the GMT, and also because the Pepsi I chose had the stick dial (ll rather than II) and appears to have the newer movement.

Oops, I forgot, I think you should ask your fiance or find out somehow which colors he prefers. It is just a matter of personal taste after all. I don't think any one color would appreciate more than the other if they did go up in value.

I would go for black and red, I have owned that watch, and I really miss it.

It stands out, but do not scream, if you know what I mean. It got character.

But - as many says - its rather cheap to change the bezel so I would buy the black and red watch, plus the all-black bezel, and pepsi-bezel. Then she could choose...

The red/blue is a bit more obvious and noticable.

The red/black is more subdued and suitable even for an up-scale event..(my personal favorite)

You should know what dolors lyour boyfriend is comfortable witih..

If I were pushed, I would agree that the red/blue should be the one chosen for a gift lacking any other input; as has been said, if he wants another insert, they can be found for less than a 100 bucks.

i have the new gmt2c and i love it, if i were to get another one i would get the pepsi version so it would have some color and a jubilee bracelet along with an oyster bracelet so i could change it around.

I'm partial to the Coke dial. That's what I have now.

I find the coke bezel to be the best. It looked good on Keanu Reeves in the movie poster for "Street Kings".
