The 15202 is a temptress!

Not sure if I'm looking for moral support, enabling, or a swift kick to the head but here is the issue:

I really want a 15202 (at least I think I do) but I just don't think it fits my lifestyle. I'm sure I would give it a number of scratches and just bang it around a lot because I want to wear it daily but does that... nay SHOULD that matter? Watches are meant to be worn right!? But what about the WR... and so goes the conversation in my brain.

Currently I have a 3 watch collection: Speedy, Milgauss Z blue and an AP Diver. To me the speedy is the only watch that is SAFE in the collection; the z-blue and diver could go on the chopping block for the 15202. Mind you, I've owned the 15202 once before but stupidly traded away though I can't recall why. What are peoples thoughts? Trade for it? Keep what I have cause they are more ME? Any help appreciated

Lifestyle is an important factor for me, e.g. I used to own a 15300 in rose gold as well as a PP Aquanaut, but I thought my active lifestyle with 4 kids didn't match well. I refuse to wear a watch I have to take off or worry about when playing with the kids. I still appreciate those watches very much but it simply wouldn't be a good fit for me.

I know the feeling Jordan. I want one badly as well but I keep reminding myself I traded away my 15400 for a reason. I would probably end up trading away a 15202 as well

Seriously, the second I take possession I'm gonna be like "I feel like it's too delicate for me. FS: AP 15202"

Grass-is-greener syndrome is way too intense in this hobby.

In my better moments, this is how I feel and I forget about the 15202 for a couple of hours then TRF happens and I'm right back in.

Is the RO a work of art? Absolutely! Still, I refuse to let it sit in the collection so I can just look at it and admire. I will wear the heck out of it and enjoy to the maximum everywhere and anywhere. At some point, I will send her into Clearwater for Spa treatment and she will come back looking like new!

Buy one, enjoy the blue and worry later

I am so ready to pull the trigger on a 15202. I just cant bring myself to do it with out trying one on first.

My AD is begging to get one in for me so it should just be a matter of time.

If I ever let go of the 15400 it'll be to trade up to the blue dial 15202.

Just do it! Haha don't worry about dings and scratches as they will happen over time. Watches are meant to be worn and appreciated

This. I bought a Black Bay to rotate with my 15400. And it shows less scratches than the PCLs on a Rolex does.

There are a lot of jumbo fans here, myself included. I find the thin profile of the 15202 makes it pretty easy to wear and doesn't get banged up as much as it looks like it would, and I wear it in regular rotation. Outside of physical sports activity I will pretty much wear the 15202 for everything else.

Absolutely you should get the Jumbo but I will try to keep the Diver as well. The two makes a great combo. But yes, the Jumbo is going to get scratches all over if you say, wear it "roughly" but as long as these are not deep marks or huge dings on the bezel ( and also depend on how OCD you are ), you are not going to notice them in daily wear most of the time.

My Jumbo bracelet already got scratches and dings all over. I will take care of that when it's time for service.

Some enabling pic

I love mine!

Bought it in 2012 as part of the actual anniversary release year. It's the first H series run w the grayer blue dial as opposed to the bluer dial from the I series and current production. Got it the same year my first born (a boy) came to this world and some day I will give it to him.

It's a great watch and only you and a few others (if ever) in the same room will know how special it is.
