Any red flags here?

Thinking about buying this preowned conversion kit for my 15400. Seems really hard to detect fake stuff when dealing with plots, straps and such. Obviously the clasp is the biggest expense. Can anyone chime in on whether or not this all looks good?

Thank you!

Buy directly from Clearwater. Pay a few bucks more, have peace of mind.

Thanks Serg!

I'm looking at $1800 +tax vs about $700. It's more than a few bucks. If you have a single doubt, I'll just enjoy my bracelet (which is awesome) and wait till I have some more cash flow and I get anxious to mix it up. But if the consensus here is that this set up is good to go, I'd seriously consider saving the money.

Get what you pay for in life...I'm not a leather band expert, but for me I concur with Serg.

I can't comment on the strap / buckle above. Not an expert.

If it were ME ... I would buy these items from AP and remove all doubt. You said it yourself. Very hard to detect, unless you absolutely trust the seller and maybe know where is it coming from.

I don't know the seller nor do I have any history with him, that's really why I'm asking around here before making any decisions. If I totally trusted the seller the money would be sent already.

Agree. Color on the strap seems off.

Had the same doubt when I was buying steel bracelet for Elephant...after some time simply went to AD and bought one, zero regrets...even 1perc chance of having fake bracelet on watch masterpiece was no go...

Have to agree with Jason on that - again, I'm no AP strap expert, but the colouring/texture of the top side of the strap appears off to my eyes.

Take a look in the FS section here as I did and you'll see what I mean.

Would be a nice conversion, but maybe not from this seller.

IMO impossible to detect if it is fake on something like this, so since you don't know the guy, ask if he has some papers proving he got it from AP, if not I would pass, sure you are saving cash, but if it turns out it's a fake you'll be with a 100 buck piece of crap... To be honest the strap looks like fake alligator, maybe not but looks like it...

I'd say the strap is 100% genuine if you compare with this one that AP custom made for me.

Too many honest sellers out there to deal with one you aren't comfortable with

But yours has double stitching and the OP has single stitching.
I'm no expert but that is a difference

I requested the double stitching - it was custom made by AP. I could just as easily have asked for single stitching.

The way it's made and stamped is what I was referring to.

Anyway people can do what they want, I'm just trying to help someone who didn't want to pay full retail.
