I know I can sell mine for what I bought for so I'm thinking it's pretty solid.

Sure, but there are way more Rolex availible, Panerai seem to have a GREAT re-sell value, and som discontinued model fetch astronomical prices, as the PAM004 A series for example...

Panerai make such small number compared to Rolex that the demand always is higher then the supply, easy as that!

Great reply, Martin!
I was going to say something to him, but figured I'd better keep my mouth shut.

What do you guys think of the future demand of 359? Got the popular sandwich dial afterall, but looks pretty different from the stereotypical luminor due to the arabic numerals.

The price just went up $900usd so used prices are coming into line for early adopters like me. (starting to look like what we spent at the AD)

Hard to say without a crystal ball, but it seems like a model that could potentially go away after a few years. That is one of the ingredients for strong resale. Folks like the watch, but while it is still available new, you'll only get small increases that are in step with official price increases.

Basic and historic pams hold their value extremely well. I even managed to sell my preowned 000 for brand new price once!
