Not yet buddy, still in the "thinking about it" stage. Lots of people have been talking about Panerai recently, and I thought I'd learn a little about them.

I love the 111, just that the 112 has the big "9". The 111 is my number 6 choice.

I'm not so sure. You can check in www.paneristi.com
Detail information there Buddy.
Or you can ask to John (Launchmini) for more information, he is a Panerai expert, like Mike in ROLEX WORLD.

Choices, choices....

I love these threads!!!!!

Ok, first off, you REALLY need to see them in person and they WILL jump out to you!!!!!

The first time you try the Luminor's on they will seem HUGE!!!!!! Radiomirs, not so much.

Auto's are also thicker than the manuals, so try on both. My suggestion is to try on every model your AD has even if you don't like them. Compare autos to manuals, lumiors to 1950 cases, to rads to 40mm,42mm,44mm,45mm,47mm and yes even 48mm (high dollar there!).

Focus on the case you really like. Once that is done, research the hell out of the dial. Here are some of my suggestions and thoughts.

For Luminors and 1950's under 10k
111 is sandwich. Can be had BNIB with a 10% discount now easy. (112 no sec and 176,177 for Ti)
005 is painted with logo. Prob no discount. (000 no sec)
233 is sandwich, in-house manual, 12 hr gmt that can be hidden, daylight indicator, date
--can get this one new for under 10k, but used are right around there now!!!

For Rad's under 10k
190!!!!!!!! JLC 8 day movement, indicator on back, sandwich, gold hands!!!!!!!! Discontinued.
210!!!!!!!! My favorite base (two hander). SO DAMN CHEAP right now. Can be dressy.

For SE's under 10k (can't buy these new anymore)
232. Big, 47mm. Not a daily wearer. Going used for $7k. Very historic
249. I've seen some used ones from overseas going for 10k b/c of exchange rates. Keep your eyes here in the future. Prices are going down, down, down!!!!!

Give it a couple days/weeks after you try them on and come back again. You'll know which one you'll be thinking of!

You have time. Good time to get into Panerai. I think the value of these monsters is going up once ETA stops selling their movements. Panerai will either go all in-house or all JLC movements of something like that, putting them out of the price range of me!

I'm trying to plan my collection ahead of time. Think I want a painted and a sandwich. Lum and Rad.
These are what I'm thinking about!

Check out watches24seven.com for some examples. Bruce has a 63 for sale right now with a historic brown dial. I have never seen one before, but it looks nice in pics. Also it is a Ti case.

Man, I need to just buy one.

They are in the US also, but I have seen 1 go for about 10,500 b/c of a guy who is coming to America from Europe and willing to do a deal in Dollars. B/c of the current exchange he was happy b/c he still gets his price in his currency.

With the trends I've been seeing, I would not be surprised to see a 249 for 10k soon. I recently saw a 127 going for under 15k!!!!! There is a watch and a half!!!
