Hey, did Omega sneak some updates to the Constellation past us?

I was Omega's site reminding myself of some details on the Constellation when I noticed the model has been revised quite a bit. I don't recall seeing anything about this in the press.

The newly revised gent's Constellation can be had in 39mm or 36mm variants, and they're all powered by Caliber 8800 now (the outgoing model used 8500). Obvious changes were made to the bracelet, crown, hands and dials, including the placement of the date display (at 6:00 now instead of 3:00, and no metal bezel around the date display, so we probably can actually read it now!).

There are bunches of variations shown on Omega's site. Have a look. I'll be interested to hear what the Forum thinks of these updates. Here are some classic combos that struck me:

I believe the Constellation works nearly as well in two-tone as a Datejust does...

The blue/gray looks nice. Omega is doing that with other models, a great version in the Aqua Terra. I’ll have to check their site

Even with the background color of the date display matched perfectly to the color of the dial . This is a detail Omega didn't bother with just a few years ago.

Thanks for the info.

I'm thinking of buying this new model when it's available. If I were to do that then I would have four Omega watches, one from each of the main collections (Seamaster, Speedmaster, DeVille, Constellation), and each would use a different caliber

I wore this Constellation for a few months before trading it, and I enjoyed it a lot.

I like the silvery-white dial with black hands and markers. But I'm hoping they update the De Ville Prestige line with 8xxx movements soon, those are still stuck on 2xxx.

I noticed these as well; it appears like they also reduced the water resistance by 50m.

But from personal experience, silver hands on a white face can be hard to read.
