New Daytona
Dear friends,
I might me the only one but I like the "new" Daytona. Not oversized, good news ! By the way, although "new", I see that it still has the "old" shape for the box (with curves) which most of us find indeed nicer ! Do you think it will soon evolve or stay like this ? Best |

I like the black bezel, hard to say if the case will stay the same but I hope so. I can't wait to see one in person.

It is very nice indeed.
Hard to say if the case will change in the future.
Rolex is always making slight modifications but this definately works right now. Looking foward to the possibility of a new ss model in the next couple of years... |

I found this picture on a forum (not my pic) and I have to admit that this combination looks VERY nice.
I also noticed that they have upgraded the clasp, which will be very interesting to look at. The driving point for me will be price. If it is close to the YG version, I might be in, but if there is a substantial difference, I will pass. |

I am a fan of this new Daytona. I have two Daytonas, but far and above the best Daytona of all is this one... http://www.rolexforums.com/showthrea...t=34267&drgn=1

I don't know if it will change but I do know that without be afraid to chip the heck out of that ceramic bezel.

I love it too but 42 mm would have been better
and 42 isn't oversized :-) |

I am thrilled that the 40 mm size was retained. I've been collecting for over 40 years & have timepieces from 32 to 46 mm. 40- 42 mm sport watches are the sweet spot. Just as 42 mm is the original & classic size for an Omega Speedmaster, 40 mm is the classic size for a watch as famous as the Daytona. The SS Daytona may be the ultimate classic, so I think Rolex is very careful about varying the case size, for valid and I believe correct reasons. I believe a larger Daytona would look wrong. I think my son will be wearing a 40 mm Daytona decades from now and it will be every bit as good looking and well sized as it is now.

IMO, any Rolex with a ceramic bezel is an improvement over what was before...
