Sd 43 running slower
Hi, I hope someone can tell me that my 2017 sd43 is ok.when I fully wind my watch and then wear it, the time keeping is always very good at about - 1 sec a day consistant but if I wear my datejust on the second day and leave the sd the secs lost the starts to increase to 2 secs per day. ( left flat dial up)
Then as the sd approaches the last 12 hours of power reserve it will start to lose 2-5 secs in last few hours. I have done all checks and it is self winding ok and holding power to 72 hours and as I say timekeeping is brilliant if I wear it all the time. It's almost as it wants all of the wrist action! Am hoping this is acceptable and not a sign of any issues . I Done exact same check with my datejust 41 and stayed at constant -1 pd until stopped at 71 hours. I am hoping this is normal and understand watches all are individual little machines and will vary .As I say on wrist it's fine just latter stages of power reserve accuracy drops. Any other sd43 owners have similar experience? Thanks for any help or advice, love this forum. Last edited by carl123; 10 October 2018 at 12:55 AM.. Reason: Need amendments |

Simple answer all mechanical watches will give peak accuracy when the mainspring is kept at peak power-reserve.And you are worrying over nothing as its all normal with any mechanical movement as mainspring winds down so does the amplitude as expected so normally would slow down.

My Deep Sea 126660 has the same 3235 movement as your SD43, I believe.
To be honest, I find it to be almost the same as you describe. If I am active, it's consistently loses 0.3 to 0.5 seconds per day, but if I am sedentary for a day, or rotate it, it drops to around minus 1.7 seconds per day. Interestingly, I have a Tudor with the new in-house, which has been incredibly accurate for months, losing less than a second in total over a 2 month period on my wrist. I have recently given it to my oldest son to wear, he is a pretty active kid but has spent the past 10 days studying hard for finals, at his desk for 12 to 16 hours per day....the watch is 20 seconds slow now! My conclusion is the obvious one - activity matters!! |

Your wrist temperature can make a difference. Play around with all the various resting positions. I find my new Rolex watches gain resting in the 6 o’clock up position. Face resting down is more neutral.
