Resale will not be a problem, he has the original parts. Best of both worlds. Will definitely sell for a good price with the extra parts. Good move!

That's a nice modification with a gorgeous dial! A bit of extra contrast in the design of this dial would be nice for the longterm perhaps.

Funny, always the "make it more expensive" remarks in these kind of topics. I'm not fully aware of the exact sitation overseas but in Europe chances you meet someone in the wild that is able to tell you the exact dial differences between a 116520 and 11609 are roughly, 0,0001 percent, no matter in what kind of surroundings you hang-out. So a pretty much non-argument...

Yours is just a dial swap to make it look exactly like a watch that cost more.

Might as well buy a base model 5 series and slap an M5 badge on the back.

Umm, have you seen his list of watches? Clearly, the issue is not that he can't afford the white gold version.

I 100% applaud the OP's decision. It looks stunning! Years back I was heavy into the car modification scene and I guess I carry the mentality with me, because I see nothing wrong with this. Rolex watches aren't something handed down from the gods that can't ever be changed and considered with religious-like reverence. It's just a watch, people.

No, the bezel is different in PM so he's not trying to fool anyone in the know and heeded our sensible balanced advice.

Thanks buddy. I know I dont know everything about watches but I don't find anything wrong if you change your watch just a little to differentiate from everyone else. I know purist might be against this idea but if you change a part here and there, especially with Original Rolex parts, you are not trying to cheat anyone you are just trying to be different. I was thinking about buying the 116509 but I am just not a fan of white gold per say. I rather have steel and just loved this blue dial rolex made.

Exactly, anyone who knows their Rolex wouldnt be fool by just the dial. Even if I had changed the bezel, the crown guards / the lugs shape and the bracelet end links are different on the WG version.

That's an awesome mod OP. It looks great and I'm sure it feels like a new watch.
Enjoy it!

That’s looks fantastic - cool knowing you’ve got a legitimate unique personalized watch. Just keep the old parts in case you want to sell - stating the obvious here. I love what you did with it though.

Exactly!

It's like putting an AMG badge on a 2.0l C Class

Next people will be putting brown bezels and ice-blue dials on 116520's and the comments will be saying it looks cool/amazing.

It might look the same but the owner definitely cannot feel the same.
