Incoming OP 34mm for the wife
My wife gave birth to our son two months ago. I've been looking to gift her something special to mark this happy moment in our lives, and to celebrate her accomplishment in working through the pregnancy.
Over the last weeks I have been "fishing for clues", trying to establish what sort of watch she prefers, casually asking her about some of the watches on my computer screen. From this I deducted she is not a fan of the cyclops, and prefers a clean white dial with plain indexes. The choice became clear... the 34mm Oyster Perpetual 114200 white dial launched at Basel this year would fit very nicely. The main Rolex boutique in Sydney took a little over three weeks to source the watch, and called in a favour with one of their Melbourne stores to have the watch sent across. The new OP is apparently a fairly popular choice here, but the 34mm is on the rarer side. As a first-time customer, my experience with this AD has been absolutely great. The watch is really stunning in person and wears more like a 36mm; the off-white dial is beautiful. With my 6.5" wrists, I would have no qualms about wearing it myself. Needless to say, the wife is extremely happy with her new watch. She would never spend anything like this on herself, and the joy I get from seeing this on her wrist everyday equals the joy I feel wearing a new watch myself. And without further ado, here are some photos of the watch in action. |
