Rolex country code 748

I was recently offered a 16520 with certificate stamped 748 for country code. Date back to 1990. No dealer stamp though. Tried but couldnt find any info about that country code. Does anyone know? Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately, it appears that 748 is not a country code - based on the below source (could be wrong though):

I checked few and it seems that 748 code is missing from the list:

This has appeared before, and I don't believe a definitive answer was found. Would be interesting to see if there was one, however.

Internet Market Code lists are like the Serial Date lists... compiled by somebody years ago then copied and pasted as if they were the gospel.

A 748 code, if the paper and watch is authentic, would likely fall in the same grouping as other 7xx codes, one of the islands in the Bahamas or Caribbean.
