Bali Jan 2019 - advice pls
Hi guys,
Wife and I are making a 4 day trip to Bali when we visit my in-laws in India next Jan. Does anyone have any advice on what to see/do??? We don’t really want much of an adventure filled trip, as much as we want a more relaxed holiday. We’re staying at the W in Seminyak. (Paul before you ask, you’re more than welcome! Lol) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Lol sorry Adam, maybe I didn’t type it right! We’re going to India. But during that trip we will be making a 4 day vacation from India to Bali for our wedding anniversary.

I haven't been to Bali in years, but a day spent up in and around Ubud should still be worthwhile.

Friend of mine from work also mentioned Ubud. Will get the wife to check it out. I’m more than happy to sit and drink all day at the beach, she’s a culture vulture lol

As above, Ubud is very nice & different than the beach areas; four days isn't much time though. I work most of the year in Indonesia, so I'm somewhat jaded on Bali & and would spend my time lounging vs. exploring on a four day schedule.
As long as you get outside of Kuta you're doing it right (nothing wrong with it, but it's tourist central). I haven't stayed at the W, but a friend did last year & said it was great. |

Jimbaran for seafood is a must whenever we go there (we live a 2-hr flight away)
Besakih/Gunung Agung (famous temple/mountain) is a quite typical place to go. Very touristy (and unfortunately a bit dirty) but its sort of the main cultural attraction there I'd say. |

My wife’s parents have lived in Jakarta the last 6 years and frequently go to Bali. They have a nice guy/driver who often takes them around while there. PM me if interested in his contact info.

My wife and I were there for a couple weeks recently. With only 4 days, I'd honestly just stick around in Seminyak. Ubud was beautiful, but I was glad to have 4 full days to explore up there. A day trip with all the traffic may be more trouble than it's worth unless you have a specific goal in mind.

I stayed at the W Seminyak couple years ago. You might want to ask for a room away from the bar as they played loud music late into the night esp on Friday and weekends.

I did read that on trip advisor too! And I think I’ll heed that advice. I’m way older than the 30 years my age suggests! Lol. Wife may disagree

I have a personal driver/family friend when we holiday in Bali.
PM me if you want his contact details. If he is available on your dates place yourself in his hands for an experience.

If you leave early morning and come back after dinner, traffic should be no problem getting to Ubud. Some of Bali's most beautiful scenery and best restaurants are there, and you'll have a nice memory of your anniversary trip beyond just poolside. There's white-water rafting there too, and some good local art galleries.

My wife is really looking forward to all the fresh seafood in Bali. I’m looking forward to the alcohol and beach. Lol

She also mentioned the monkey forest in Ubud. Looks like we may extend our time in Bali, and less in Bombay. Lol
