NO DATE for the symmetrical look.

Date if it is your only watch because date function comes handy when you need it.

There is no bad decision between those two.

Pick the one you like best.

Buy the other for your next.

I'm a big no date fan. The early '90s 2 line models are so clean. Definitely vote for 14060/114060

I say the SubC... 114060 is a great watch. Great symmetry, overall looks, and if you don't absolutely need the date it's the better choice in my opinion. I do own one so could be biased.

I got the Date first and then I had to get the ND to be really happy.

I love the symmetry of no date but unlike many, I also like the cyclops. I like the functionality of quickly seeing date so I would go with that. It really is not a pain at all, especially if you keep your watch on a winder when you do not wear it for periods at a time. Then it is just a once every 60 day sort of thing.

For me the no date made sense from a price pov. I bought as my second Rolex a 14060 T<25 which I've since had serviced as well and is currently under warranty. I have plenty of date watches and only a couple no dates. I use it as a rough play water sports watch so it serves its purpose well.

I love the easy versatility of the easy change through hole lugs; here it is seen with a leather Nato strap.

Love the look on the ND since it's a nice classic look (especially the 2-liner), but I prefer the date since I always look at my watch for the date multiple times a day when I forget lol

I think the ND is a great option for the Sub. It flies under the radar and has great symmetry over the date version.

My vote is sea dweller so the date is there but cyclops is missing. It's the best of both worlds :)

I debated the same thing in November. I went ND and love it. So glad I did. It's simple and uncluttered. I searched around and found a great older 2 liner which IMHO just helps keep it looking clean.

I really like the Sea Dweller and started to drift toward them, but then the watch budget is keeping me a bit in check. I'm also concerned about wearing it every day and it might be a bit too big. I'm a pretty big guy and could carry it. Okay, okay...maybe if the right deal came along..haha

I sign and date documents daily as part of my job.

I much prefer looking at my watch to confirm the date rather than my cell phone.

It's funny, I'm on the computer all day and use my calendar online all day so I guess I don't really need the date. I have a date function on the Swiss Army Maverick and the Tag Heuer Formula One, but now I'm wondering about it because I rarely look there for the date. I just looked at both watches to see if the dates were even right.

I like the ND dial layout better but have a Sub date and have grown to always check the date by looking at my wrist even when wearing watches that are ND.

You can always take the cyclops off if that bothers you too. Looks great without the magnification.

Ultimately whatever makes you smile more. Cell phones and all the other digital technology we are surrounded by today makes a date complication redundant and nothing special unless it's an annual or perpetual calendar. But as I said that I was sitting here thinking about which Day Date strap watch color I want the most lol. I'm going to have to get a colorful 36mm DD strap watch at some point. Clean symmetrical dials are adored by many, myself included, but I'm still going to glance at my wrist when wearing a ND just out of years of habit.

I have the date. And i use my watch for the date more then i thought. Think if i would buy a watch without a date i would be disappointed when look at it to know the date and it isn't there.

I would get the date model because if you get the no date you may regret not getting the date model later on.Got my first Rolex in August, the date model.Hope this helps.

What are your thoughts about the convenience of the date being there, and also I'd like to know about the collectibility of the date vs no date. Although the dates are $1,000 more retail, they don't seem to be that far apart on the secondary market. I plan to buy a used one in excellent condition, with the newer band and ceramic. Any thoughts and advise is greatly appreciated. I love the forum, been scanning through it for a couple years on and off.

The answer is simple.

If you prefer the look of the Sub Date - buy it, it is as simple as that.

if you prefer the look of the "no date", all you have to do is ask yourself a very simple question. - Is my brain capable of remembering todays date for the rest of the day.

If your brain is up to speed and you have the mental ability to remember todays date, then the "no date" model is the obvious choice.

If the old brain cells are slowing up - you are better off going for a date model.

Regards

Mick - old codger of 67 who knows today date and is still capable of remembering it.

Haha, thanks Mick. All of these comments are helpful. Originally I was set on the No Date and then started to drift toward the date, but after focusing on thinking about it I'm back on the No Date.
