Daytona: The king of chronographs?

Is the Daytona the king of chronos? If not which is?

Rolex...king of the mass produced automatic chronographs...yeah I'd say so.

King of the mass produced chronographs is the Speedmaster Pro.

My favorite Daytona has a Zenith movement in it.

Love Daytona have had two. Own a zenith model now.
But the Daytona is not top five IMO.

Daytona's reputation came from the public's love for the Rolex brand.
Watch for watch its over rated, the term king is vague to describe a chronograph watch.

Value, design, rareness, materials, complication, accuracy, heritage and craftsmanship all play roles on desirability.

A Patek chrono like the 5980 is a higher grade merchandise than the Daytona, I don't consider that one as a king but I also like the Daytona, if given both on the table I'll take the Patek any day.
I recently read about the Zenith striking 10th, reasonably priced and a lot of watch, its unique movement also crowns it a king.

The king is the watch on your wrist, but there are many countries for plenty of kings.

Breitling IS chronograph since Leon Breitling is the inventor of the modern chronograph in 1915. Rolex wasn't even a Swiss company then to put its horological significance in perspective. The Breitling has been chronograph centric in design, form and function since.

For me the ROOs, so much presence, fine detailing and beauty. Plus mine have been accurate and no issues.

Speedmaster wins over the Daytona for me I just always seen the Daytona as a hype watch. Also would pick a AP or pp over Rolex obviously

I am surprised that the overwhelming response is not in favor of the Daytona. This is a Rolex forum after-all. Where are all of the Daytona owners?

I own a Speedmaster Pro, but never considered it to be superior to a Daytona. I am curious what criteria others on this forum use to give the edge to the Speedy Pro. Is it the historical perspective or rather the mechanical elements of the Speedmaster?

Lange datograph is king in my book of chronos. PP 5170 is right by its side and arguably the one I would chose between the two.

To most the PP 5070P holds the crown.
