As a purist of sorts, I wouldn't do it but have nothing against those that do. I think some people find it shallow if one's intent is to deceive people into thinking it's a pricier reference. I don't think anyone considered that to be your agenda and I think the dial looks great of course. Wasn't cheap you said- if you spent a couple of thousand and feel like you got a new Daytona or got an old Daytona to feel new, then it's very inexpensive. Well done.

I've been toying w/ the idea for a year now, not sure I want to give up the originality. I'm still on the fence. Your watch looks great, congrats

I was contemplating buying the full WG daytona but I personally dislike white gold.

I am more of a rose gold type of guy. The only other Daytona I would consider getting would be the Platona

Looks good. There's something nice about modifying a watch and making it "yours". I recently modified my GMTc LN, and am loving it.

Exactly. You get it.

I understand and respect what purists have to say but Idk part of me wants to be different. I am by no mean trying to deceive anyone. Me not using the WG bezel only had to do with the color of the bezel, nothing else. I wouldnt try to pass the watch as WG model.

That is breathtaking. Your pictures are great and really bring out that dial as well. I was thinking about this option for the 116520 since the 116509 came out...if I knew it was possible I maybe have reconsidered flipping!

That's very beautiful, I like it better with the clsssic bezel.
Did you have your own watch maker? Must have steady hands to change out the fragile hands.
May I ask where was the blue dial sourced from?

It does look great, love blue dials as I have a bluesy myself

Just out of interest when it comes to resale does the value of the watch go up generally on these daytonas with modded dials? Or the opposite

That's a good point. Given that the dial is genuine and I still am keeping the original dial, I would imagine the price going up. I do see watches with aftermarket dials selling for more which is mind boggling.

That looks really nice. Doesn't detract from the watch at all. Well done.

Looks great with that blue dial, and the little splash of the red Daytona on the rotor through the display caseback is icing on the cake.

Rolex 116520 with 116509 Blue Heaven Dial

I wouldn't even do these changes for free.
Keep it original. I think you lost about 80% of the watch's value by making those changes.

I feel like you cheated.
You got the same watch for 1/3 of the cost since you have a buddy at the RSC.

I respect Bamford watches because they are truly unique customs.
Yours is just a dial swap to make it look exactly like a watch that cost more.

Might as well buy a base model 5 series and slap an M5 badge on the back.

Great dial, beautiful photography and I love the Sky Dweller. The brown/gold combination is one of my favorites.
