I've had two compliments , both on my Explorer II Polar and both from shop assistants.
So much for the Explorer being under-the-radar.
I put it down to the 42mm size..it stands out more.

Never got any compliments on my Rolex. I like that's it slips Under the radar. Speedy got noticed once because of the vintage leather strap.

Pretty rare to get one, but over the years the 11613/116613 LB. Over 30 years only a handful of times that someone other than a WIS had said anything about my watches.

Compliment yesterday from the salesperson in an Omega boutique on my 116613LB. Compliments every time I go to Publix on my cologne.

An Omega wearer noticed my polar Explorer II. That's it for four Rolexes over ten years. I don't mind at all. I want to fly under radar.

I've noticed a few guys do a double take to look at my TT Bluesey but never a word about it..... which is just fine with me. On the other hand I've had multiple compliments on a Tag that I've been wearing as a daily beater for years

Never once got a compliment on my Explorer II, as it kind of blends in - which I love about it.

On the other hand, since I've purchased my Hulk... I've had over a dozen comments/compliments towards it.

Got more complement on my new Seiko Padi Turtle than any of my Rolex lol. That's a $300 watch, well with a $70 super jubilee bracet an $80 seiko marine master clasp

I've got more compliments on my blue Pelagos in just one month of ownership than I've got on my GMT in three years. Go figure

Yellow gold DD40 for sure out of any of the watches I've owned. Just this past weekend I received two complements.

You aren't flying under the radar, people just choose not to say anything. However, they notice.

I have got a few compliments on my 116613. However, I have a rose gold Graham that people go nuts for. They want to know all about it and how much it costs and what the gadget on the side is. I can't wear it without someone commenting. It's crazy. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1498016661.905503.jpg

My first and currently only Rolex is a 11623 DJ, no one has ever commented on it or my Tudor BBB, which is fine to me. I expect that my next will be a used 40mm Explorer II and, based on your comments I don't expect it to be noticed, or commented on either.

Rarely does anyone even mention my other watches, but for some reason the 116518 always attracts attention, (which is exactly the opposite of what I'd expect).
Outside of watch shops I've never had a Rolex of mine commented on in the last 34 years. About a year ago I was introduced to a gentleman in a restaurant buy a friend of mine. After a few minutes I noticed his 116518 on his wrist and commented what a beautiful watch he was wearing. He thanked me, and told me how much he enjoyed it and that he would never part with it. Nice guy. I had my 6263 on with short sleeves. Nothing...crickets...no one notices your watch.

I've been complimented once on my GMTIIc-ln when I was getting fitted for a suit. Another time a customer service guy at a car dealership complemented my Tudor Prince Date.

My father in law took notice of my GMTIIc and liked it, but he's a WIS through and through.

Otherwise, nobody seems to care or even notice my watches, and that is quite alright with me. I prefer it that way; I don't wear my watches to fish for compliments.

not all compliments are good

I've had a handful of compliments on my 118135, mostly from young women in their 20's. It goes something like this: "I love your watch! Is it Michael Kors?"

I get more compliments on my tag than on any of my Rolex that I have had. On the other hand I love to give compliments, if it's in an acceptable location. I love seeing the more under the radar pieces, especially other explorers.

LV from a lady in a local shop that really only noticed it was a nice green

Whilst back in the UK a few weeks ago it was the Daytona 116500LN Black.
