Retirement watch received...

I didn't think it would be this quick, just one month from Switzerland, but my DJ 41, jubilee, fluted bezel, MOP diamond dial is on my wrist! It looks a lot better in the flesh.

My photos stink but that's the way it is. The MOP dial is hard to capture, but I am very pleased with the watch.

Very nice. That dial looks quite solid white, I thought MOP was often "stormy" looking. I know they are all different though. I quite like this variation.

When I was a kid (many years ago), for some reason I associated retiring with receiving a Rolex from the company you gave your life to (at least the best years of it). Are there still employers that give a nice watch as a retirement gift, or did you buy it for yourself?

And congratulations...on both retirement and the watch regardless of the source.

Thank you for the kind words.

Ha! I had to buy the watch myself! All I'll get from the company is a swift kick and a 6 figure severance pkg, which is fine with me.

The dial looks plain white in the photos. It is really a good looking MOP. I will try to get a better photo. Retirement is on 1 Sept but I figured I may as well get the watch a little early.

OK here are some slightly better photos:

I have an extremely interesting that will keep me quite busy. Against forum rules to discuss. Suffice to say I have almost as much $ in that hobby as the watches so you can probably see why it will keep me busy. I really enjoy it.
