SS Sky Dweller Dial and Price, Waitlist for Popular SS Models

Since the blue dial sky Dweller is clearly the most popular one, do you guys think it would get sold at a higher price in the grey market and further down the line?

And what's up with the waitlist for all the "prime" SS model watches, Daytona I understand but SD43 and Sky Dweller waitlist seems a bit too much? No?

How long do you guys think until SD43 and Sky Dweller waitlist to die off? I'm new to Rolex so not as experience with the waitlist thing.

You should be able to get an SD43 soon at an AD

I walked into an AD over the weekend and was surprised only 2 are on the list. I'm the 2nd.

One thing to remember about the SkyDweller is that it has a rather complex movement. These won't be produced in any high numbers, but also, I feel the demand for these is overstated right now. It's new (so is the SD43, but not quite complex movement there), so initially there will be a high demand. But keep in mind it still rather expensive even if it is a great deal relatively. Many more buyers will look at less expensive models. The SS SkyD will more likely be picked up by Rolex multiple piece owners. At least in my opinion it won't be nearly as popular as the DJ41.

Both nice watches

New Sea Dweller wait lists are being filled quickly (thanks Rolex) and the Sky Dweller will take longer unless they send out plenty.

There are a few people on the wait list where I am located but as I was saying to my AD yesterday I have a feeling they will cancel when it arrives due to the size (I am in Asia).

If you can't pull off the PM you are not going to pull off the SS in my opinion.

Never underestimate the tolerance of wearing oversized watch in Asia. I've seen many people with 6.5 in. or smaller wrist wear DSSD.

We will see. In my experience i can get SD43 in 2-4 weeks from every AD i have asked and for blue SkyDweller some dont take names in the list and refusing to take names on the list means the approx waiting time has then crossed the 18 months mark.

I think after the Sept 1st Europe release you guys in EU will not for real if the SS SKyD will be easy to get or not , before that it's just AD's speculation IMO.

I doubt in the US you will have to wait very long for these two so I wouldn't buy from grey with premiums.

Thanks for all your inputs. I can get my hands on those fairly quickly but that's because I have spent a lot at my AD every month. I'm just curious what people think. Lately it seems like it's impossible to get the popular ones unless you pay premium or have relationship with AD. Feel bad for the newcomers

Exactly, I think they are playing the same game with SD43 and Sky D

Actually, in the Bay Area it's hard to get popular SS models as well due to so many wealthy people. It's like that for all big cities

Have not lived in the bay area for awhile, but I had conversation with an AD telling me awhile back that they did a lot of tourist trade, so some models moved pretty quick. Where I live now, supply is only limited on the Daytona.

I think that's especially true for SF.
