SD43 in Asia!
Hi guys!
Here is my SD43 story. I got on the waitlist even BEFORE the SD43 was announced! I told the AD, when he was preparing to go to Basel, that IN CASE Rolex releases a SeaDweller with red text on it, and in SS, he was to order one IMMEDIATELY and put me first in the wait list (I had read about the rumour in the Internet, at the Rolexpassion site). When I told him this, the AD just laughed and as far as I could tell, thought I was bonkers. Lo and behold, the red SD43 is indeed released and I am elated. But, while I read of all the folks receiving their SD43s from their dealers, here in Asia, the last few weeks and months, the watch was hard to get in Asia. In Singapore for instance, the leading pre owned shop has been selling (or trying to sell) at SGD 19,500 (which is roughly 14k USD). While anyone can ask for any price for their merchandise, I have noticed these guys are very shrewd in their pricing (when the ceramic Daytonas were just released, they were selling them fast at around SGD24k/17k USD). Anyway, in the case of my dealer, he got the watch 2 weeks ago. He said he'd ordered 8, and Rolex had sent him one. I dont know if this is the complete truth, but I do know of some ADs who have not received even one. So my AD calls me up, and initially, wants a price just a little above MRSP. I explain to him that, unlike the SS Daytona, that the SD43 is freely available in other countries and will soon be available everywhere, and that I want it at a discount! Well, after some negotiation, I managed to buy it just below MSRP. Here it is, I have been wearing it for a week, non stop. I am afraid I've even managed to get a little scrape on the bracelet clasp, just noticed that. One thing I would like to add: The SD43 just BEGS to be worn. I also have the SS daytona and while I love it, somehow I like to keep it safely locked up. This one I just want to be with it all the time. Maybe because its new, or maybe its just me I dont know. [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] Enjoy! and thanks to everyone for their help in the past :-) |

Wondered that as well but when zoom in appears more black. May just be lighting ?
OP: big congrats! Loving this watch myself...doesn't play well with most of my office shirts but look forward to wearing it each evening after work. Probably a good thing as my others would probably be collecting dust most of the time if I wasn't wearing them to work. |

Green?
It's just out of focus. The watch is so deep/thick that with a macro lens (at a normal aperture), when the focus is on the dial, the date wheel is out of focus.
Here is a shot from my phone, with focus on the date. I wish that my datewheel was actually green! [IMG][/IMG] |

Congrats! I too have an SS Daytona and when I get my SD43 (hopefully next month) it would probably stay in the watch box for a while.
