New collection on Patek.com today
Are non baselworld launches common ?
Is this just ladies collections or do gentleman collections get launched outside of baselworld ? |

Baselworld is dead. Many companies not going.

Today Patek launched the ladies' Twenty~4 Automatic. The original Twenty~4® steel bracelet model debuted in 1999, but this is their first self-winding version.

I like it, but have to imagine these will sell below MSRP. Any guesses what kind of discount AD will give?

The 7300/1200a-001 (blue) is quite nice. I guess it will be another popular-hard-to-get-long-waitlist model.

Any news on pricing? Possibly ~$30k USD for the SS version? The ladies 7118/1A Nautilus is $25k, so it will likely be competing in this price range. They share the same movement but the new Twenty~4 has a different case and bracelet with diamonds on the bezel.

I sort of like it. Not great but not a bad offering. Unfortunately 36mm is too large for my wife.

why are we assuming a ladies launch which isnt a huge deal indicates anything about Baselworld? Ladies Nautilus models are even pretty obtainable. Not the same thing as a launch of a 5968, 5740G, or the 5270P (for the serious collector, not really a mass market piece but still). Launch one of those off cycle and i might read something into it.
If anything it gave this launch some press as otherwise if would be buried in the stuff Patek released already this year or next year. If i was going to assume anything its that sales on ladies watches are particularly soft and they moved up the launch to spotlight these pieces as otherwise is was a Basel 2019 release.

It happens, the most recent non Baselworld release was I believe in 2016 (Sept/Oct) for the Nautilus 40th anniversary pieces - they were pretty high profile!

I think its quite elegant.
If they made a bigger one without diamonds I'd be up for one. His and Hers set. :) :) |

just saying its not some groundbreaking hot watch and there are many possible reasons for it not just that it is something regarding baselworld.

My wife loved the commercials that they put out there at launch. They are also doing a ladies show in anyc to push the pieces.
But wife was like... its nice but it cost as much as the 7118 and i have one with gold/diamonds already... not sure it is worth the money. Think she still likes the aquanaut more |

I was lucky eniugh to be a Patek guestt at Baselworld this year and i guess it costs them huge bucks. Double story...private viewing roims etc etc. More regular rekeases througjout the year whets the apptite versus 30 in one go....as tbey are showing releases to their AD's this can easily be done at tbeir HO without show costs...in addition tbey seemed to jave embraced social media and their website is a huge improvement so tbey are joining the 21st century....maybe not 2019 as tbey are still swiss and need to show support.... ut baselworld will be a distant memory soon
