No professional PM model in stock

Hey everyone, I walked into an AD in Long Island over the weekend out of bored. I was shocked to see that there are no professional PM model in the case.
The only one available is a 2 tone YM. I asked the friendly advisor at the store and she told me that they haven’t receive any professional model in a month, not even a PM model.

Do you think it is true or AD hides the PM professional model to create the same hype as the scarcity of the steel model.

I always want to get the white skydweller in steel and it seems like it will be a miracle to get one in a yr even doing a deposit and wait for it.

What PM model are you looking for? Just about any big trusted seller here on the forum can source a gold Sub, GMT, Daytona etc. Gold and Platinum models are readily available. Try other AD's or go with an indy watch dealer.

Nobody's holding any PM model stock back.

Believe me if you are willing to buy a PM model, any AD is happy to take a deposit and order the watch from Rolex and have it for you likely in 2 months.

Probably what happened is somebody looking for SS was able to just buy the PM model in the case, and it's taken a bit to restock.

Agreed! PM is going to be relatively easy to source.

Well obviously, I don't know, but I don't think they're hiding the PM's. I actually think moving those watches is a priority for the AD's, especially without a steady supply of steel sports models.

I would be more inclined to believe that they don't have them. And I think the pricing that I see in the FS section supports that.

You should be able to get most PM within two or three weeks, if they are in your country's distribution chain. No shortage there. Most dealers have very little PM in inventory and cringe when PMs show up. They tie up capital and are not fast movers in most market areas. I know stores which have had the same DD40, it seems like, for years.

As mentioned above and in talking with my AD about a WG DD40 he said three weeks if I want to order one. Didn't ask about Daytona's or others.

I think the manager had a morning meeting and told the sales staff they had better sell that TT YM2.

i think they just sell them faster than they get replacements. I haven't seen a PM sub, Daytona, or GMT in London for probably a year with any regularity and a Daytona definitely not.

I just dont see the same motivation to hold those back as they are not selling for massive premiums on the secondary market and demand is only slightly above supply. You can get them you just might wait a short time.

When I started working for my current AD, they were holding PM product in the back out of fear of being a smash-and-grab target.
Since then, we've resorted to putting every watch we have (which is not anywhere near enough to fill our cases) out. While it's possible they're keeping it in back, I would say that it's more likely that they just don't have it.

Go to Manhattan dude. They always have PM sports in stock. If 5th Ave. doesn’t have it, try downtown around the WTC. It’s pretty slow over there and they recently had WG BLRO, WG blue Daytona, Platona, YG Sub, YG GMT. Every couple of weeks will be different of course. Also try ADs in NJ or Westchester.
