16710 Pepsi vs 116170LN
I am torn between these two watches and haven't had the chance to have them side by side to decide which to purchase.
The Pepsi is a classic, and prices keep going up. I feel like if I don't buy it now, it may soon be too expensive to purchase. The green GMT hand has always spoken to me on the 116710LN. I also think the bracelet and clasp construction is far superior and more substantial. Price wise I can get an unworn 116170LN for probably $1500 less than a good condition full set Pepsi. What do you guys think? My only Rolex at the moment is a 16570 Polar.

As a daily, the 16710 checks all the boxes for me. In fact, as I write this I just landed and set the time using the wonderful jump hour hand function. Using the watch as the tool it was designed to be!
Also, when is the next time Rolex will make a 6-in-1 watch? Dare I say, never |

As a BLNR owner I may be biased, but I never cared for the 116710LN. The 16710 has a lot more character and better color scheme. Another tick for the 16710 here.

116170LN is a better value and will compliment your polar better
The 16710 is artificially high with collector demand. Price will correct as demand wanes. |

116710LN a robust contemporary Gmt plus the 16750 polar, best of both 6 digit and 5 digit references.

If I had the choice again I would get the 16710 even though I bought the 116710. I don’t regret having the 116710 but I still want a 16710. Not sure that would be the case if it were the other way around.

Both are fantastic and I have had both. The 16710 remains however. Incredibly versatile watch. The 116710ln is great but I love the ability to switch the other one about on both bezels and bracelet and for me I prefer the 5 digit aesthetic.
At that much less however, the 6 digit is a real runner... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

116710ln would be my personal choice.
I could never get over the bracelet and clasp on the 5digit models.

it depends:
the 5 digits are "tool watches" the 6 digits are "luxury watches" if you dont care about "the bling" go with the pepsi. i would go with the pepsi from what i read you are ready for the pepsi but would like a modern. its your money and your satisfaction everytime you look at it. the first choice is normally the one you always go for. |

now i realized that i should have kept the 16710 as the 126710 is more "dressy" more blingy, dont get me wrong i enjoy it but the 5 digit would go more "under the radar" compared to the new one if that makes sense. |

I don't particularly care for the blingy style of the ceramic bezels and the PCLs will likely bother me, but I can get a new 116710LN from an AD with minimal wait time and the experience would be cool.
The Pepsi has been a watch I have always remembered since I was a kid as being associated with something cool and it was the first watch I ever attached to the Rolex brand when I was young. This is a hard decision than I thought it would be.

How big are your wrists? The 16710 is not a big watch, even at 40mm. My wrists are 7 3/4" and sometimes I feel like it's just a hair too small for me.

A trashed 90s example I'd take the ceramic all day. A late serial, no holes 16710 in mint condition wastes ANY modern GMT (and Sub) as far as I'm concerned and will only become more difficult and costly to procure.

Modern sports watches are pretty hard to beat in my opinion. 116710ln would be my choice (ideally, BLNR).

16710 but I’m biased w the 5 digit models & more so w the Coke look over the Pepsi. Especially if you have thinner wrists then 5 digit is way to go. I have 6.7-6.8 wrists & the 5 digits wear better than my previous 6 digit SubC.

I would go with the six digit modern Rolex. For me it wears better and has a lot of upgrades. The five digit watches have sored in price and when the bubble breaks they will fall in price way below current market. I prefer the BLNR and own a WG BLRO.
