May acquire a Tudor 76100 - I would like to verify Dial and insert are real
I know the dial needs help, I just want to make sure the dial, mainly the insert is legit. Is it a service insert? I know it is rough...
I know zip about Subs. This is a 76100, I’ll have better pics later. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

It appears there are different versions of the dial, compared to the T SWISS T version it did look off, but compared to this with T-SWISS-T it looks correct. The dial that is. The guy that is selling, his brother is a Rolex dealer, he has had this for a bit. We will see later, I wanted to check with you guys first.
Borrowed from HQ Milton: This dial: Dial looks legit - insert is still in question. I need to check date wheel, date etc. This will be a project. More crappy pics until I see it, bracelet isn’t in pics obviously. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Ouch, the lume is flaking badly and those hands have been poorly relumed...
Are you buying? Edit: I think your dial is legit. Late 80's version

I know it’s rough. This fell in my lap. I’m not looking for a good example, I am not even looking. It’s a no brainer for me as long as nothing is really amiss. Same for him, he is getting something really nice in return.
I have been wanting a Tudor Sub. Once I see the band to determine what shape it’s in I can see what I will do with it. Buy new dial, send it to classic. Hands can be fixed. Project watch. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Dial looks legit. I just picked up a blue 79090 that also needed some attention. I was initially a bit suspicious / skeptical... but other than the bezel insert it was all OK... and IMHO it cleaned up nicely. Link below if you are interested

Thanks for the encouragement, I remember you posting that watch. It looks great.
I decided to do what it takes to get this one. Mine needs a little more love than yours did. I’m still curious on the bezel insert... |

Looks like it may be a service based on the color of the pearl, but I'm far from an expert and I know tritium can age to all different colors at different rates.
Based on the dial condition though, I'd pass on this one. |

It’s hard to say pass without knowing the price. Just looked at it. I pick it up tomorrow through a trade. We are both getting each other’s side of the trade very much so “right”. It’s 123XXX serial, model 76100. It had a folded riveted Rolex bracelet with it, light stretch 11 links. May not be right for the watch? Correct date wheel. Really nice in person compared to pics. Hands will need to be fixed, they were relumed, dial is clean other than the missing lume... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

You didn’t miss it, it would be against forum protocol to discuss it anyway I believe. It’s another collectible from my other hobby... I totally understand the suggestion to pass. Most people are buying watches and if I was looking for a good example this isn’t it.
This is just one of those rare instances two friends have something each other want but aren’t too deep into either item. He is Rich with watches and I am rich with other things. The only difference is his acquisition isn’t a fixer upper, it’s actually something I didn’t want to part with but I can build another. The bracelet will be traded or sold because it’s not right, and I am guessing Classic in Hong Kong will get the dial/hands. 9315 bracelets aren’t cheap I found. Quick light disassemble/clean/buff crystal/reassemble looks a bit better.
Enough pics, I’ll update this once it’s finished. I believe the insert is 90’s service FYI. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

I found a nice original matte dial (just like what is in the watch with original non cracked lume). They aren’t super common so I feel like I scored.
I am going to keep the original dial with the watch, repair the hands to match the new Dial’s patina since they have a bad luminova relume using non glow relume. Between finding the right insert and dial I couldn’t be more excited. Great end to the year. I read in another thread Rolex has 9315 Tudor clasp bracelets available. I am curious what those cost. |
