Breitling Superocean 44mm.

Picture taken from google.

As said, what are your thoughts regarding this model? I particularly liked the one with blue seconds hand. It's quite big, I think as large as a DSSD, but slightly thinner.

Will it be an iconic watch? Will it bore me? Will it hold value if I decided to sell it?

Any thoughts welcome! :)

Imho i think its more of a fashionable watch at the moment rather than a future classic. The design is likely to polarise opinions. Personally i don't like the direction Breitling is going in with their new designs. I'm not a fan of the fonts they are using. But if you like it who cares what others think. Good luck!

I have a superocean heritage 46 which now comes in a 42. I think it is an amazing looking watch and IMHO more likely to become iconic.

I tried on an SO44 recently and it was superb. The only worry I have is how well the rubber bezel stands up to wear and tear.

Haven't tried on the SO Heritage 42 but that looks the business.

The Avenger Seawolf is also a superb watch and well worth a look.

I love it, especially the chrono version. Iconic? Tough to say. If you want iconic I would get a navitimer.

I really like mine (wear it more than my Rolex) and i would have to agree that iconic is Navitimer, but for a fun sporty watch it rules.

I don`t think that most modern watches will ever be considered as iconic, they`re all mass produced and there are really little innovations in industry in terms of design and functionality...
However, I really like the looks of new Superocean, that blue second hand looks very nice, but I`m still more fond of older model (42mm, before rubber bezel, more classical looks) and, of course, the Steelfish.

I think I was one of the first people to take photos of the SO II (42mm) a year or so ago when they first came out. I loved the look of it and had one pre-ordered since it was announced. Now it looks like I'm going to have to pick up it's 44mm brother as I'm loving the new size (I'm a PAM guy)!

It won't hold it's value nor will it become iconic. But, it is one tough watch, every bit as good as a Sub.

I have tried it on....it most certainly is the business. Perfect size for my wrist. I want to see the white face blue bezel in person.

I don't see the resemblance either, other than it's about the same size, and it's about a 3rd of the price so it's a great buy imo.

Personally I think it looks much sportier than a DSSD but that's just me. Otherwise, congratulations (a bit late) to Norman for that beauty.

My sentiments exactly.

Breitling does make quality watches. I like the range they offered from 2001 -2010.

I think its hideous. I love the old line of Superocean watches - owned the 44m Superocean Steelfish and 42mm Chrono Superocean. Lord knows what they were thinking with that dial or bezel on the new one. For being a true sport watch, the old design still had a classy look to it.

The blue looks good. As for being iconic - no! With Breitling changing the models so frequently iconic is out of the question - like most Omegas. As for holding is price - sorry but it will not.

I have a Steelfish that I love, I got at a good discount otherwise the resale value would have changed my mind. I do not plan on selling but the the resale value cannot be overlooked.
