Breitling Discounts?

I was looking at the Breitling Unitime at the local AD the other day, and asked about discounts. I was informed that Breitlings are no longer discounted, as they've tightened the reins on prices quite a lot, and there's little room to play with.

I think if I pull out the wallet, his tune will change... can anyone advise me on what's typical for the Unitime?

Good choice, an interesting article here on the Unitime and pricing

Also ask on breitlingsource.com, the guys there too might know of contacts to get it for less!

I know Mayors still offer the employees %60 off one purchase excluding LTD Ed , so I'm sure there is some room to work with.

Hi Transio

PM me, I know a dealer not too far that just this weekend (and a few weeks ago) almost immediately pulled out his trusty calculator to offer me a discount on a brand new Breitling with out the slightest hint I was a serious buyer.

Nice guy as well...

Chris

Looking to purchase a SuperOcean 44 in the near future. Can someone shoot me a PM of a preferred AD who can offer great discounts? Local AD only quoted 12% discount.

@DLF

Things like that are often a promotion run by the watch manufacturer- Breitling, Baume, Tag, etc. Jewelers aren't particularly eager to loose money, even for their own associates.

They're personal use accommodations. They figure that if they take care of you and make it easier for you to get one of their watches, you're more likely to recommend their watch, and you (as the consumer) are likely to see their watch on an associate's wrist.

Ie, it's not retail. Most brands have a margin of 40ish% Some are less.

Was in a Breitling AD shop last weekend and asked about a discount on a chrono avenger and a super avenger, and without too much haggle, the dealer offered 15%. Keep in mind, I never walked in this store before and wasn't too serious about purchasing (didn't even ask to hold it or try it on). I think with some flash money and some back and forth 20-25% would be easy. Maybe even 30% in a slow or small shop after the holidays when it slows down.

My personal jeweler isn't an AD but he always has new breitlings or like new breitlings, when I was in there a few years ago he had a navitimer brand new with plastics still on for 2700. Although he also had a early 80's datejust TT box set for $2200 maybe prices have just gone up. I remember him telling me they were atleast 50% off msrp back then

I would not buy a Breitling for less than 35% discount. They are awesome watches, but resale is laughable.

The days of 33%-35% discounts on brand new, current model Breitlings from an AD seem to be over. The ADs that use to offer these heavy discounts, have either had the line pulled or are discounting about 25%, depending on the model.

At the the AD in Orlando the discount is 0%. Take it or leave it. They sell plenty of watches.

I called a local AD about an Aerospace and was offered 10% without asking. I was looking for a pre-2010 dial and found a NOS one at an AD in TX and was initially offered 15% off, but got it for 30% off.
