Date change for ladies

My wife's approx 10 year old datejust (purchased pre owned) just required its first manual date change. I had to pull the stem out to the last position, which stopped the second hand, and spin thru 3 days to correct the date. Is that the correct method? Does the ladies not have a date change position like the mens?

If you turn the crown clock-wise does it advance the time forward or backwards?

Yes, a 10 year old ladies Date Just has a quickset feature.

Why would this be the first time in a decade ?? It needs to be adjusted every month with less than 31 days.

Okay if clockwise moves time forward then there should be a middle position for setting the date. If you aren't able to find it, it's likely the set lever is dry and needs oil.
