I take a trip a month n buy 1-2 watches per yr so I prob spend more on travel but enjoy each hobby equally.

If you consider money spent on watches to be the price rather than the delta between what I paid and what I could sell for...then definitely watches. Otherwise trips. We travel local more often than not. Weekend adventures every few months are the norm.

In all honesty, I spend more on travel than watches. However, here's my preferences...
Option A (wife's pick) - travel to an island for beach resort activities; or a historic location for site seeing and good food... I would rather have a new watch. Way too much effort for very little joy out of the activities. Option B (my pick) - travel to Alaska for overnight hiking adventure; or a mt. town for a week of snowboarding... take this experience over a watch any day of the week. |

Trips vs Watches
Trips - hands down. My wife and I both LOVE to travel. We enjoy fine dining, food and wine, sailing and time spent just relaxing.
I enjoy my watch and other hobbies — but I am not really all that into ‘stuff’ — I get bored with things quite easily (and quickly). My .02 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Both! Trips to put GMT, explorers, and dive watches to use. Depending on where you visit, maybe milgauss?

I'm in my 20s, but to date I've done very little travel. I'm working on getting more trips under my belt, but so far the combination of Iceland and Montreal is a good bit less than my Explorer.

Was never big on trips. The decision is easy for me so just lucky in that way I guess.

I would have to say trips or travel.
We Totally enjoy the experiences, cultures, people, food and will continue traveling to exotic locations as long as we physically can.

Having only recently discovered Rolex, we've definitely spent more on trips. We"ll probably continue to do so. Being able to treat ones self to the occasional
luxury such as a fine piece of jewelry or watch is nice but being able to travel to places you only read about when younger is truly priceless. Having older kids( late teens) that can truly appreciate the journey is great. Being able to do both on a somewhat regular basis is fantastic! |

I’m part of the minority. I’ve spent more on “things” than trips. I’ve also added to my jewelry collection as well as my watch collection. Sometimes vacations aren’t great experiences if you have crappy customer service or food options etc. Diamonds & watches give me fulfilment every single day. I do like to travel don’t get me wrong, I just do it modestly. :-)

As of now, trips. I am in my early twenties so I am trying to travel and gain the experiences before I move on with my life and have children. My fiance and I tend to go on a few trips a year and never do the same kind of trip in a year... We generally do a beach trip, a trip to a state we've never visited and then an outdoors trip (rafting, hiking, etc). But, as time goes on and my family grows I believe it will become watches > trips. If any of you guys have any advice on things to do in Jamaica, as we are going in August let me know!

Both but I will say, unequivocally, that if I were suddenly unable to afford both, it would be trips 100%. I’m quite confident that, on my deathbed, I won’t be thinking about how excited I am to get my gmt Pepsi this summer (which I am) but I’m quite sure I may reflect the night I was picked up by tuk tuk at the airport in Cambodia and the sheer level of joy and fear that overcame me as we traversed the dirt roads on journey to my hotel without a single source of light other than the 30 year old motorbike’s headlight.
The two aren't even remotely comparable. I almost pity anyone who thinks they are. |

Trips for me Flavio
I love watches but my wife and I love to travel and it ain’t cheap. We go to Italy and try to visit one other European country every other year. Next year we are taking the kids to Italy for the first time and that’ll break the bank, especially the way my son eats |

Same here my friend. We've been to AMS every other year since mid nineties but we never get enough of it. We fly mostly with KLM so it's our first stop before any other city in europe, and I don't even try to convince the wife not to go anymore. She knows what I want to do with the money if we stay home so it's useless at this point. |

Most defiantly trips. Heading to the UK in three weeks and hopefully return with a Bremont MB2 if I can find one in country for less than it is here.
So does that mean that my vote will be negated? |

Plus, after you return from the trip, you need to go through your mail, unpack, etc., etc. There’s no place like home. |

My wife and I are fortunate to travel quite a bit. A lot in fact. If I had to choose between watches and traveling. I would choose traveling.

If you go to Italy, don’t forget to double the value of how much you’ll spend on gelato & pizza.

My scheduled doesn't allow for too many trips. Watches are an expensive habit.
