I never take off my watch except for contact sports like baseball, martial arts.

When I am lifting weights or in the gym, I'm aware of when I am wearing a PM watch and scratching it specifically when I'm going pull ups on this one set up where the grips are close to a bar.

I don't wear any watch while exercising unless I'm in a hotel where I won't leave it in the room or the toy box they call a safe. I find a watch uncomfortable on my wrist when I'm exercising.

Until I got my Garmin Swim I used to wear my Sub for swimming. The Swim track laps and much more so that is what I use.

I have a watch (excuse) for every occasion. My gym watches are mostly Seikos, the Monster is one of my favorites.

Can't stand to wear watches, rings or anything else, for that matter whether working out or playing drums.

5 digit models at the gym no problem
Only time I'll take it off is when playing basketball

No. I use Dumbbells a lot and I don't want to be worrying about my watch. I could mess it up pretty badly.

That is probably most easily answered by "why do you workout"

I have worn my (currently only) Rolex daily since I got it. So I wear it at the gym. I sometimes wear it playing tennis or platform tennis, too. I don't think twice about it, just like I don't think twice about wearing it when I go to dinner, grocery shop, walk the dog, or anything else. I don't run in it, since I have a GPS watch, but have always worn it working out, and then in the pool and/or whirlpool.

Sounds like I have ruined it, even though it looks brand new to me after 30 years of enjoying it (other than a scratch on the crystal, which has been replaced at each servicing). But after reading this, I will likely either throw it away, or sell it on Craigslist for, hopefully $100 or so.

Way too risky! I've crashed my road bikes. I've crashed my mountain bikes. I've dropped plates. It wouldn't survive a week

I use a watch more appropriate for my type of exercise - a Garmin.
