He is a wealthy man form an elite wealthy family and he should be able to wear whatever he wants. However, since he is a politician in NY, he needs to present himself as a regular guy looking after the regular folks by fighting the elites and their interests. As such, he should not wear a Breguet. Hypocritical? Yes. Realistic? Yes. Whatever helps turn out the vote... It is similar to the guy with the $100K plus watches, big house, great cars, etc. who like to front they are all for socialist ideas, etc. It will never change their and their family's lifestyle so why not?

Ridiculous “Watch Spotting” article on Yahoo! This morning....

Funny, you should try to improve your comprehension when reading (remember that from the 5th grade?).

I specifically stated, “Personally, I am totally fine with anything he (or others) have/wear. But I (and most of us here) are not common folk.” I did not say that I prefer politicians who pander to their constituents.

What I said is that he should have known better and a negative reaction was predictable from his constituents and the press.

It’s no different than a tourist in Rome/Barcelona/London flaunting an expensive watch in certain parts of those cities. As you know, those areas have had a rise in watch theft.

I “prefer” that one can wear an expensive watch anywhere without harm. However, that tourist would be a fool to do so (like Cuomo was in his situation).

Most would call this “street sense.” In Cuomo’s situation it’s called “common sense.”

I read your comments just fine but thanks for including me on your list of who to talk down to. You clearly said 'Cuomo f’ed up and he should have known better'.

I'm saying you're wrong. He won't be hurt for it politically. It won't matter. That era of politics is dead. Was buried in 2016 if you missed the memo.

Probably interesting to note that Cuomo gave a damn about the hilarious internet outrage wave and wore his Breguet again today.

Gives an indicator how much of an ‚ as a politician you have to play these games‘ type of guy he really is

Of course I talked down to you ... I didn’t appreciate you twisting what I said: I “ ...prefer politicians who pander to their constituents...” — which is not true and I gave no indication of what kind of politician I prefer (whether it be straight shooting or two faced).

Once again, I said Cuomo “f’ed up” because it is reasonably foreseeable that his constituents and the press would see his $15k watch as offensive during this time. His party is the champion of the underprivileged. Politics is a game, and Cuomo made a foul/dropped the ball.
