First Rolex, YM Rhodium for wife
Had bought a few Omegas for myself and a Tudor for my wife prior to this but I had said next watch I bought was going to be a Rolex. I should have clarified that I meant the next watch I bought FOR MYSELF was going to be a Rolex, but my wife had another interpretation.
I showed her some options... she liked the Yachtmaster. I had initially shown her the midsize platinum dial 168622 35mm (which is available at some really nice prices) but she really liked the newer Rhodium and Blue dials significantly more. She really wanted to be able to put it on a rubber strap and after looking around, I wasn't sure anything was going to properly fit the 37mm. She decided she was good with the 40mm. Showed her pics online of a baby blue rubber strap paired with the Rhodium dial and she was sold. I had my name down with our neighborhood AD where we bought the Tudor and some other assorted jewelry items for about a month before COVID19 shut the world down. I knew I could readily get it for about MSRP + tax from online sellers, but for about the same price preferred the local AD. Then with all stores shut down for at least another month and the Rolex factory also shut down, I found it preowned (seemingly worn at most a handful of times) from a trusted seller for a little over $2k under msrp+tax. After spending more time than I care to admit figuring out how to wire money with all bank branches closed, we had the watch the next day. I am not confident enough in my skills to attempt to resize her bracelet, but here are some pictures of it on the coordinating rubber strap. It's Miami Blue from Horus Straps, they call it a limited edition seems like it periodically comes in and out of availability. |

Great YM! I went to my AD to try on the RG on OF but they have to order it for me when they reopen. I tired this on and loved it! That blue looks good with dial.

The blue strap compliments the dial, not my cup of tea but certainly works well

Just showed my wife as she has the same YM37 with rhodium dial and she didn’t like it so don’t think it’s necessarily a female thing! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

It’s perfect and unisex in 40mm ! My wife is partial to the 37mm, this might push her into a 40!
