Can someone explain to me how the British accent can differ so widely. It seems to me that the accent is unique for each city block!

Probably because in England we have miles and miles between cities with only rural dwellings in between?

Anyway Cumbria Lake District here

I appreciate it. I was raised in Connecticut, went to college in Colorado, and have lived in Alaska for the past 10 years. I was in Europe for a bit and had incredible difficulty understanding a lick from the locals.

I find it easier to talk to the spanish speaking illegals here in the states at times than I do the english! LOL
