I was just starting to get interested in Rolex, and the training information supplied by Rolex was frankly non-existant. Started doing my own research, stumbled across this place, and managed to absorb the phenomenal amount of information the site contains. I might have only been working in the trade for a little over 3 years, but I'd wager my product knowledge of the current line up is as good as anyone's (and, judging by people's experiences on here, much better in many cases!). Thankyou TRF!

I'm getting a subtle hint that you might have found TRF with Google?

I don't remember. All I know is that it had less than 100 members when I joined.

I have been a member on another forum since around 2004, but found TRF using Google in October, 2007.

I noticed on Amazon that Timex made some pretty cool looking watches that were inexpensive enough to make owning several more interesting that owning just one more expensive watch.

That led me to checking out other brands and the more I looked, the more I wanted to know what distinguishes an inexpensive quartz watch from a more expensive quartz watch and why people were even interested in mechanical watches in this day and age.

That led me to watch forums and that led me to Rolex watches and that led me here.

It all started in 2006 and five years later, and a bunch of inexpensive watches later, I'm a Rolex nut--hmmm, I mean WIS--and still learning.

What's so cool about this interest is that there's always something new and something as yet undiscovered.
