Icon20 Ap royal oak blue dial question

Hi AP FORUM,

Im just a huge fanboy of royal oaks and i guess its my dream to have a 15450st Blue dial on my wrist some day in my future but just a question,

1. Is the blue Tapisserie dial colour on 15202, 15450, 15500, 15400 all different?
I saw a lot of comparison videos and 15450 seems different to the 41mm blue dial 15500, is this right?
The blue dial on the 15450 looks the most shiniest and has an amazing sunburst exposure out of the 4, is this also right ? I really look at the dial colour when it comes to watches and find the 15450st in blue the most attractive. Could anyone verify this? Has AP changed and developed the blue variant overtime? Im not sure why but the Jumbo 15202st in stainless steel blue dial colour is pretty dull compared to 15450…
Anyways please let me know your answers for anyone who potentially has experience with these ROs!

My wrist size is 16.6cm approx and i currently have as a reference: Tudor Black Bay 36mm and Santos Dumont Large which are the most perfect sizes i think for my wrist.

Your eyes do not diecieve you, 202 looks relatively more 'matte' compared to 450 blue.

Our boutique manager mentioned that some of their VVIPs make a point of collecting all the blue-dialed RO's to have the full variety of different patterns/shades of blue (in case anyone is wondering where they all end up).

Good luck on your search for your ideal RO.

You're definitely right, the shade of blue on the jumbo is different than the one on other models. The lighter, more metallic shade was one of the reasons I chose my 15400, back when they were similarly priced and available at msrp.

Btw, my wrist is the same size as yours and I like how the 41mm 15400 wears. Granted, it's flat in shape, so that helps.

Also would add that older models, like the 26320 are a much lighter blue than say the 26331. Same goes for the 15300 blue compared to 15400, it looks like over time their hue of blue was made darker. Personally I prefer the older more bright blues, as such on my 26320

That dual time is just awesome, do you find the second dial for the second time zone is too small to read when traveling? I've been wanting a GMT.

I’m not sure you need to be VVIP for that

Fair enough, VIP then - in either case, more IP than me.

Edit: Upon further thought - if a collection includes e.g. white ceramic, platinum and titanium QPs, titanium Jumbo and Tourbillon and WG chrono in addition to the usual blue suspects, it's pretty far out there, from where I'm standing.

It's fine, got used to it pretty quickly.
