Royal Oak with Rubber Strap

Hello fellow AP lovers!

Does anybody else use a rubber strap on their AP Royal Oak?! Don’t get me wrong, the bracelet of the Royal Oak is simply phenomenal, but in this humid summer I really wanted to find a rubber strap if possible to keep my wrist from sweating!

So I went to my local AP Boutique and I found that they sell rubber straps specifically for the Royal Oak line. Can’t purchase these online on their website FYI.

Now I have a 15500ST and was intrigued. I made the purchase and after overcoming the sticker shock of the rubber bracelet assembly($~1,400USD), I just couldn’t be happier. It’s a completely new watch!

I can always purchase new rubber straps for $399 if I ever want to swap colors, but just wanted to share my experience with it since I hardly ever see any Royal oaks with a rubber strap!

Would love to see other combinations and your guys thoughts on this combo!

looks great but 1400 bucks is just insanity. I'd go with rubberB or horus for something like that.

Think most of the cost is in that deployment clasp.

I think it looks great and considering it myself too.

Looks great! Year, as supernova pointed out, the deployant is the main cost driver there. I personally perferthe tang buckle (even though they say it doesn't fit).

I've also thought about splurging for the Code deploynat in WG for two reasons, the cure of that deployant fits much better to my wrist. And also some more weight to counter balance the watch head.

I personally like Blue ROC on rubber.

I might also dabble for summer fun with organge or yellow from the 3rd party sellers for extra colors.

Yes, I want to say the clasp alone was about 6-700. The rubberB options don’t include anything like that I believe.

The clasp makes the bracelet that much more secure, in my opinion.

For Rubber B, look at the options under leather strap replacements now that you have the plots.

Oh I see, now that I have the buckle I can swap the AP rubber strap with a rubberB one, if I want to change colors in the future!

Good to know, thank you!

I hope AP makes a rubber strap mechanism just like the Aquanaut or Oysterflex. Please make it for the diver. I would be so onboard with the diver if this ever happens!

I would pay the $1,400 and not look back...such is life. I love watches on rubber for the summer and would do the exact same thing. This looks great!

I wear mine on strap all the time. I hate the deployant so I got a oem tang buckle for it.

I think that looks great, sort of slims down the width of the dial.

Stellar combo! Matching the band to the dial color is definitely a great look. Looks right out the factory.

Now a navy band with the blue dial and white dial/white band need to be posted here to complete the collection!

Sooo good. Now, if only there was a quick change system...that would be amazing. Seeing these on rubber confirms I would be happy with any of the dial color options, except maybe the white/silver.

I wouldn’t shy away from the white dial. For strap color matching purposes, I think white allows you to pair with the most other strap colors. Personal opinion on the color wheel.

Yeah, I guess you could get pretty darn funky with a white dial. Red, light blue, green, purple.

What all factory colors does AP offer? I know there are many other places that make straps, just curious if there is a color wheel or list for the AP branded rubber straps that fit a 15500.

The white dial also probably looks good around the slopes and snowy environments in the winter....same with in the spring when there is lots of green...fall with the yellow aspen trees and that bright blue summer sky at high elevations....

Thanks!

OEM colors are white, black, gray, navy blue.

Rubber B, Horus, and some others give some additional color options that will fit the OEM plots. I think gray dial (and of course blue dial) would be hardest to match other bold colors personally.

It's hard to compete with such a steel bracelet.
But for a change and in summer, it looks good. I like
