Dress Watch: Piaget or A. Lange

To all friends on the watch community, I wanted your opinion on something. I am in a rather fortunate position to acquire a dress watch between piaget and a.lange. as many of you are watch enthusiasts, I respect if you would be able to chime in on which piece would you pick and why. I feel more might go for the a.lange but I hope to get some feedbacks on piaget as well. Especially, if you had owned one previously.

Additionally the a.alange is a 35m while the piaget is a 38m. Screenshot_20210729-191403_Chrome.jpg

If ALS made a 38mm or larger... If this is a suit / dress timepiece you plan to keep for decades go classic white (or cream) dial imho. The small mm is ok, yet it also depends on your wrist size.

You got to try them on, but most people will tell you that Lange has a better reputation these days

There are not many piaget boutique and the same could be said with the a.lange. even though I did track down 2 alange boutique-AD no one seems to have the 35m and calls it the ladies watch ... lol.... anyhow, one should be able to come in soon so I look forward to trying both pieces out in person. Thabks everyone for your response. At this point, I would agree that the personalized balance cock is to be extremely desired !!!

Depending on your preference your wrist can “tolerate” a larger size.

If budget allows I would get a little larger like the Piaget model you chose.

My vote would be Lange but I am not too aware of Piaget.

If you are in SD, South Coast Plaza mall has both a Lange boutique (be careful though going in there, the people are amazing and your wallet will die) and a Piaget boutique. Perhaps that could be worth a trip?

My vote is for the Saxonia 35mm all the way. So classic and clean with Lange's finishing which, as most have previously echoed, will blow Piaget right out of the water.

Hi there, I happened to dropped into the alange store 30 minutes before closing. Upon talking with them over my infatuation with piaget they did inform me that there was a piaget boutique inside the mall. I dashed out, only to find that I was a bit disappointed with the altiplano.. the finishing on the alange is definitely much better!!!
So unfortunately the size of the 35m is a bit smaller than I had liked..

Definitely love the moon phase but it's out of my current budget as I have a few incoming.

Between the 35m and the 37m thin? Anyone?20210814_142001.jpg20210814_141849.jpg20210814_144220.jpg

Much prefer the Saxonia Thin but it looks better on a larger wrist. Reason I never got one given my own smallish wrists.

Lange. Both 35mm and 37mm look good on your wrist. Best wishes

The 35mm looks best on your wrist. The 37mm sort of looks okay, but the lugs tend to extend to your wrist’s limits, which is less aesthetically pleasing than the 35mm.

From the photo, the 35 definitely looks like a better fit. But iPhone photo can be deceiving.

Yah, totally agree. Now that I'm looking at the pictures on the phone it does seem like the 35m is the perfect fit. However, in person it really does speak differently haha.

I bought an ALS Saxonia Thin yesterday, it’s a 40mm, looks perfect to me while I found the 37mm too small

Oh sweet ! All my watches are 40 and above, I kind of wanted something smaller for a change. At first I was really adamant on getting the 35m but it was a tad smaller so I decided to settle on the 37m instead. A good fit over all
. What color dial ? Would love to see a picture and what is the size of your wrist.

I have the 37mm saxonia thin, and I love it. Great size, slides under the cuff, the details you see under a loupe (even just the markers) are out of this world, and with a dial made of silver...precious metal inside and out!

Definitely a lot more saxonia thin that I initially anticipated. The thread on alange is pretty insane with multi function complications but I haven't seen a base model of the saxonia or the thin throughout the entire thread haha. I know a gentlemen wrote a review on the thin a few months ago but that was the extent. Thanks for the inputs ya'll.
