New CEO lays a big fat egg....hopefully, these models were too far along to change? Or this is really where AP is going?

Very disappointing, the 44mm are in a league of their own.

The diver is seriously a joke and disgrace

That would be hot, a logical upgrade utilising new materials in a classic piece.

Personally I don't think it makes sense going with ceramic bezels on these...don't get me wrong, it’s the only way I would be buying myself, but I can certainly understand why they kept to SS bezels on these. They are priced at $26K…throw on a ceramic bezel and they are what…$30K? The 44mms are mid $30s and up. $5K is too small of a difference between product line ups…$10K makes more sense.

They could have done both though - some with SS and some ceramic.

Not everyone wants 44mm (especially the growing Asian market who have smaller wrists).

Oh well!

Out of the bunch from AP this year, I do really like the platinum ROO tourbillon. And of course, the RO Extra Thin Openworked in rose gold!

The white ceramic 44mm ROO is quite good as well. Just not sure whether the white ceramic will be brushed/polished to perfection like what AP did to the black ceramic previously.

Very hard to get excited about those models. In fact, I have yet to see anything at SIHH 2014 that I would put my own hard-earned money towards. Au contraire, what is coming out of shops like IWC is rather horrendous.

Of the APs, I think the new khaki model looks the best, but again, a ceramic bezel would have been nice.

In general, I don't understand why watch makers cannot just make what most people are asking for, e.g.

- A ss AP Diver with a black ceramic bezel
- Rolex GMT with blue and red bezel
- Omega models with 85xx or 93xx movements withouth see-through backs to they are less thick and with adjustable bracelets
- etc.

Why is it so hard?

I agree. I'm not sure why watch companies choose to make loads of watch models people don't really want, but won't make watches in the configurations we want!

As you say, why not make a ss diver with a ceramic bezel rather than the all white ceramic diver that hardly anybody will buy?

Big miss for me as well with no ceramic bezel. The ROO RGmreaaly looses its sportyness for me with the gold bezel as well. Finally is this the end of SS bracelets on the ROO?

You wouldn't think it would be that hard to give the punters what they want, they would surely sell loads more pieces with this strategy. It's a real surprise to me that their are no ceramic bez offerings in the 42mm line up - it is just a logical progression. RC superseded by ceramic - no brainier????? Ceramic options for those who want durability/looks and are prepared to pay a premium for it, why not?
Still the new offerings are priced right as previously mentioned, which is probably the key driver for AP, therefore they have to use materials like SS for the bez.

Couldn't agree more... I was looking to potentially get a 42mm RG with the expectation of a ceramic bezel.... the Gold bezel is too blingy and doesnt do it for me...

I am a little confused as to who the target demographic is for the white ceramic diver.

Thankfully . .

for my budget I'm not a fan of any AP other than the basic RO. Safe for at least another year
