Is the Lange 1 still popular?

I always admired this watch. Is it as popular as it used to be?

I was wondering that myself. Sometimes it feels like there aren’t watches a leather band that are popular.

that might just be skewed by the heavy "sports watch" bias of this forum. In real life, I see more watches of various ilks on straps than I do on bracelets.

I don't imagine many own Lange 1 as their only watch, so perhaps in owner/collector circles the excited chatter has moved on to the FP Journes or whatever the latest thing is, as it shifts through their rotation ?

“As popular as it used to be” is somewhat misleading if you ask me, as Lange in general is not a watch owed by many, regardless of the reference due to its small production numbers. The Lange 1 is certainly a must have in any significant Lange collection, however, and I believe also makes a fabulous part of ANY collection.

I think so scarlet knight.

Nice zeitwerk paverman.

But in my area, the local AD says the zeitwerk is more popular than the lange 1. But both do sell well.

For around £20-5K this would be my first choice of dress watch. But increasingly it seems people will spend this kind of money mainly on sports models, and for Lange that is still more the Dato and ZW.

I think any non-sports watch on TRF is not as popular, but I still think Lange 1 is one of the best sub-$40k dressier watches to have in a collection.

It's an amazing watch and so unique in its design. It will always be a stand out amongst its peers.
