Over and out?

Been collecting watches for a long time and recently decided to revamp my collection. As I've sold pieces one by one, I realized that none of the watches were really valuable to me. Expensive? Yes. But for the exception of one piece, they did not have any sentimental value. After a long deliberation, I've decided to part with every watch but the Lange I bought with my mom on a very special trip. Not sure how long my one watch collection will last, but there has been some sense of relief. Don't know why. Has anyone else hit the same path?

A few years back, I sold all my watches except for the two I'm holding for my kids. Paring down, I let go of my PAM 372, IWC 3714, and some others. It did feel good at the time, like lifting a burden, freeing up cash to put it towards something more meaningful. After a year or so I slowly started adding watches back, beginning with a Speedmaster. Then, I grabbed a blue dial Mark VIII, then JLC, then GS. Now, I'm full on watch crazy again. You only live once and there are worse vices in the world.

^ "Worse vices in the world"—that's for sure.

This is what would happen to me, surely. It would go something like this: sell/trade my current collection (7) for a single model, probably a annual/perpetual calendar complication. I'd love it and post photos on the WRUW today link. Then I would see other models that I adored, and the insanity begins anew.
