Unnecessary even if it won't hurt a watch. I just take a shower wiearing a watch that I want to clean. Seems to work fine.

I like it when people do things like this with their watches. It brings us all together.

I've found the best way to clean a watch is to fill the sink with soapy water and drop in your watch, then add your waterproof vibrator set to heavy duty mode, and let it run for 20 minutes.

Now this is the important part, when you take your soapy but very clean watch out, you must get all the soap off the vibrator.

Next throw your watch onto a fluffy towel, clutch it in your arms and roll around on the bed with it until it's dry.

Viola.

You're welcome.

A couple years ago another member posted that they use the dishwasher method with no issues. You can boil a Rolex with no problem. Maybe prolonged heat dry will affect the seals but the watch itself would probably be fine. The real question is why would you? There are so many easier ways to clean your watch.

Huh?

Ive seen Rolex's frozen in blocks of ice, boiled in water, placed in drinks, now in a dishwasher..... you know Rolex may be missing a trick here.... they could now engrave on the watch backs "Dishwasher Proof!"

good point! Dishwashers are for dishes, toothbrushes are for teeth, but they can both be for watches?

I wash my Explorer II under the sink after making sure the crown is screwed down. Works fine.

Wire brush. Stop babying your watch, the scratches give it character.

I’m in the baby mode care group, I only have the one Rolex but I treat it the same as my other pieces, wash gently in warm water and a product called Wristclean and I usually clean my daily wear twice a week.

Not for me either - I'll hand wash mine.

I do place my golf hats in the dishwasher occasionally! I recently put in my sweat stained white hat in for a cycle -- came out great!!

Is it safe to eat off of dishes that have been washed with your Rolex?

My wife accidentally washed three of my watches in a washing machine and they were fine but I wouldn’t recommend it.

I like the idea of others using the separate process of washing machine and dryer. Give it a shot and let me know how it goes.

Is it safe to wear clothes you washed or dried with your Rolex?

Brillant idea. Let me know how it goes. I will give it a miss....

Seriously though if its something like a Sub and the seals are OK water should do no damage. A high temperature wash? Not so sure.
