Investment-wise I dunno. But my old 6694 has been through quite a lot (including resurrection-level de-gumming of the movement by my very patient and long-suffering watchmaker) and I bet that thing will keep time for another fifty years. Those old 1210s are amazing, look great, mine is older than me and will last longer than I do!

This is a pretty tough one and I can go two drastically different ways.

Some of the early 34mm references with gilt dials are still pretty affordable compared to their gilt siblings.

Early 5 digit references that people don't want to call vintage yet because they have sapphire crystals.

Quartz case model, specifically 5100, 1530, 1630.

and bubblebacks, especially hooded and tropical - gorgeous and rare watches (in nice original condition). Were super hot in the 80s and early 90s - bubble busted, prices fell and never recovered.

Underrated or best valued? If underrated, I have seen some very clean 6541s. You just don't see the Milgauss getting the love. A unique honeycomb dial and lightningbolt second hand. You also get patina'd plots as well as dressy plots (at 3,6,9).

Also, the anti-magnetic tech was an advance and probably should be considered a complication which was designed specifically for certain trades, which makes this a true tool watch...

They are probably the least expensive gilt ref you can get.

I always wanted a "bubbleback" decades ago but never pulled the trigger on one. They were super hot at one time.

I'm also thinking the 16622 SS w/ Platinum dial & bezel YMs (started in 1997) will join the list as the early ones will be vintage soon enough. Used 16622s are so cheap on the secondary market despite their original higher MSRPs.

Late 1990s Tudor Chrono models (792xx) without the Tiger logo. The 79270 model is awesome.
