Hi ....new here . Have owned a Rolex since 1967 when I got my first one in a Navy PX in Taipei while on R&R. Gave that one to my eldest son after I bought a Presidential in Bermuda in 2003. My father left me the one he bought in Hong Kong back in the 1950's..ser#87448 and model 6305/2. Just got that back from the local Rolex dealer who sent it to NY to see if it could be repaired. NY said they couldn't repair it, sad day.
I broke the pin off inside the link that links the clasp to the rest of the Bark bracelet on the Presidential. The local Rolex dealer said that they couldn't fix it, but that they were sending it to a person who works with gold to refit a new pin (link is solid/ no hole to replace broken pin). Local gal said that it would be $2400.00 for new clasp...I think she got the price for a new 18K Bark bracelet...I hope..Do you think Rolex in NYC would talk to me about parts/$$ for a new clasp?
Found B. Gray Jewelers in Ft. Lauderdal who claims they can make any repair to any Rolex bracelet...Anyone hear of B. Gray? If they can do it, why can't Rolex?
Sorry for running off at the mouth, just hasn't been a good time for Rolex and me.

Hi Dale welcome to TRF B Gray's is quite a reputable dealer with some excellent vintage pieces.But would have thought that most competent goldsmiths could repair your bracelet.As for a Rolex repair well they would rather charge you for a complete new bracelet or clasp.

Hi Dale, welcome to TRF.

Doesn't suprise me RSC wouldn't touch it, they want to sell new parts.
Couple things off the top of my head;
Might shoot Stan at Tudorman8276@juno.com an e-mail see if he can do anything for you. He does great vintage band restoration work.
Or, give one of the two Independent authorized Rolex repair centers in the states a call and see what they can do.
They seem to be able to handle service and repairs RSC is reluctant to do.

UPDATE

My local Rolex dealer called Tuesday to let me know that their goldsmith can repair the clasp for my bark bracelet. Oh happy days!
Mike, thanks, I think I'll call San Fran and ask them if they would look at my Dad's watch that New York Rolex said they couldn't repair.
