New Apple Watch Series 5
(Flame suit ON!!!)
The always on face is the game changer for people on the fence. If Apple ends up doing a partnership where the watch face can resemble some classic analog watch design, it’ll grow their market further. I’ve had a series 2 for a while more-so from curiosity and this would make me wear an Apple Watch as a daily driver. Not saying it’ll replace my babies, but, I’m almost excited to see it. |

Bought my girlfriend an Apple Watch for our anniversary a few months back.
However - I still can’t get myself to buy an Apple Watch. Maybe it has to do with needing to charge it every night. Or maybe it’s the fact that I just don’t like wearing a computer on my wrist. Not sure. Just can’t get myself to buy one. |

Agree 100%
I bought the original Apple Watch the day it came out and still wear it occasionally (IE around the house when the phone is charging or to the movies). Each time a new series came out it was never enough to get me to upgrade until now with the always on display. I placed my order yesterday for a 44mm Titanium. I'm also excited to see how well the cellular data works since mine never had that along with the water resistance. Every article I read about it just talks about tracking swim workouts and how that works. I'm more interested in being able to check the score of a sports game or replying to a text while I'm in the pool or ocean. I'm hoping it can do that. I wish they would spend a little more time now on watch faces for people who actually like watches. All their focus seems to be on health/activity. Seems like they wouldn't have to take any time away from that just to throw out 1 or 2 "watch" faces now and then. |

Not for me. I am looking for less digital detritus in my life, not more.

What interest me is the "always on" display. The reason why I like my Garmin Fenix series is that their screen is always on.
But until Apple Watch can have battery that last multiple days and has ANT+ connection and has app that support running and cycling with detail data, I won't be switching to Apple Watch any time soon. :D

Not a piece of Candy for me.....I wouldn’t replace any of my watches even just for a day to use an Apple Watch!!!!
I’ve been told from friends who are not into watches, why would you need a watch while you have 2 smartphones to tell you the time!!!! Well, I could say the other way around here, why would you need a smart watch while you have your smart phones..... makes sense??? Just my opinion, if you like it go for it!!! I have a Hermes series 4- got the fancy leather band and all, thinking this could be rotated in with the Rolex. Wore it daily for a little over a month, then the Pepsi and z-blue muscled its way back into the rotation, and now it's relegated to the workout watch. Now and then I might wear it to work with the leather strap. |

I have the Series 4 and really like it. I'm very tempted by aways on display. I think a lot of the other functionality is just marginally better than the Series 4, with the exception of the display and the increase of storage from 16 to 32 GB.
When I've flipped watches, none sell faster than an Apple Watch in my experience. This is because Apple supports older models for a number of years with software updates. In fact, the only watches not able to run Watch OS6 are the original models. Mine were usually sold within 2 hours and sometimes within 30 minutes. An Apple Watch will most likely always be a part of my rotation. |

I have a series three that I wear daily for working out. Can’t wait to check out the series 5. I think there’s a time and place for both an Apple Watch and a fine mechanical timepiece.

There are days when it makes sense to wear my Apple Watch and there are days when it makes sense to wear one of my mechanicals. The two styles don’t have to be mutually exclusive. If you get a chance, read the Hodinkee profile of Johny Ive. It’s amazing how much Apple worked with the Swiss in the design of the Apple Watch. Plus, Ive is a watch guy, he owns a Speedy and PP Nautilus. Fun fact, if you look at the hands on the analog Apple Watch faces, the hands are the same design as those on the PP. |
