Well Fashionistas...OVERSIZED is back.

I'm heavily into fashion. This year I made it the entire year wearing shorts. No jeans or long pants even once. So it's T-shirts and sweatshirts all year long. That's my fashion.

A couple of weeks ago I watching the new MR & Mrs Smith on Hulu I think it was, and everything was going fine and got to the last or near the last episode and lo and behold Donald Glover is wearing this large white-ish jacket.

I thought, Dude, that jacket is way to big for you. And then it hit me.

Thank God. Oversized is back. Skinny is out. I'm back in style. HA HA HA I waited them out. Everything old is new again.

But wait....maybe this is oversized OVERSIZED...hmmm

Oversized. Skinny. I've always found both extremes to be absurdly humorous.

I usually just wear what I like regardless of what is "in". It's always come back in again anyway every few years.

I wear what I'm comfortable in. Mostly shorts and t shirts, but I will wear long pants and a collared shirt when I should.

oversized has been 'a thing' for ~18 months. Guess it's becoming more a thing... or dead soon as hipster influencers should be fashion-forward ahead of the game.

I was thinking along the line of Devo's costume from Whip It video.

Fashion is Sooo stupid, isn't it?
All the TV News reporters here are still wearing those skin-tight suits that look like they are going to pop the buttons and look so uncomfortable. I live in a HOT climate (all year round) and the last thing I want is 'tight' anything. Even a Polo shirt is suffocating. I like generous-sized light cotton sports shirts worn outside my shorts - and a big-brimmed straw hat - and Sunnies.

I find although a person can be completely outside the so called fashion sphere, they still can be affected by the "silhouette" of the times.

The silhouette is a hoity-toity fashion term that actually mean what does the style look like in silhouette. Namely tight and skinny, wide shoulders, long or short, etc etc.

So the silly looking shoulders we've seen in this thread, can still show up in the next shirt you buy, the way that jeans got tighter at the ankles a few years ago. Obviously not as exaggerated but it's still there.

Even a T-shirt in say, large, will change from slim fit to larger fit without your input. Let say you bought a Tommy Bahama linen shirt 10 years ago it probably fit wider in the shoulders than it did in the last few years because skinny came in and made everything a tighter fit.

I pity guys who buy suits who have to put out the cash, because all that skinny tight leg and tight shoulders stuff, that was so popular, has becoming obsolete now that bigger shoulders and slightly fuller legs are in.

Welp, watching this week's Paris fashion show / Winter 2024....

Yes, some fashion houses still have an item or three that is Big Style for Winter 2024... tho am seeing more attention, an increase from years past, to the fashionably thriving Asian market. No doubt the desire to stay trendy and 'of the day'.

jmho... and i prefer the classics.

Feel free to watch the many videos on YouTube for .. Paris Fashion Week 2024.
