Oyster gold Bracelet on a Gold Submariner day date
Hello Everyone - I am new here, and I have a question !
about 28 years ago, I bought a new Gold Rolex Submariner, day date, with a Gold Oyster bracelet. I have been told, that the bracelet is not all gold (18 K) A person told me it is a steel bracelet that was gold plated. I dont know if this is true, and I am just trying to find out. Around the time that I bought the Gold Submariner (aove) I also had a Stainless Submariner day date with a Oyster stainless steel bracelet - I had to replace the bracelet as it was worn and not fitting properly. I think I paid around 1,000 dollars to get a new one. at that time, I inquired what the cost would be to replace the Gold Oyster bracelet -and was told by a local dealer, who is no longer in business, that it was in excess of 5,000 dollars - remember that was 28 years ago. If anyone knows information about the Gold Oyster Bracelet - Please let me know if its plated or all 18 K gold - Thanks ! Phil |
