Think this one is more suitable with leather. Have seen some guys trying with steel but don't catch the eyes...

My thoughts exactly. I just don't like the red hand.

Personally love this watch. The blue version is definitely a pleasure to look at...but overall this color scheme does it form.

Also had this version come out in 2016 instead of the Blue CK, the opinions in the WIS community might be a little different. Can't really blame omega for producing something that is clearly popular.

Also the pulsometer is fantastic! Being in the medical profession, its exactly the type of quirkiness i was looking for instead of shelling out major $$$$ for PP5170 or a vintage piece that I would have to baby

Cheers,

taco

100% deposit does not sound correct. I heard a minimum 30% of the $5850 price.
I was up in the air on this when it was announced in Basel but it has grown on me immensely.

Odd that the price is listed at $6500 on the website. All press releases as well as my being quoted by an OB over the weekend that the price is $5850. My guess/hope is the listed price on the website is in error.

Are you sure you're not looking at the previous blue and white CK2998? It was $6500 and still shown on their website. The Boutique here says the new one won't likely show up until fall.

Yup totally, and I am a considering being a first time omega buyer

at that $6500 price point, you have options especially in the preowned marked

$650 dollars extra at the end of the day is not a big deal, but the move is pretty gimey if they change it (Yes i know the disclaimer says the price can change at any time,) but still leaves a weird taste in your mouth about the whole thing

Had the quote for $5850 last Wednesday from my OB. Slept on it, talked it over with my wife, and decided to make a deposit. They emailed me today that the price was indeed raised in the US to $6500.
I walked away and probably won’t regret it.
Disappointing for sure.

I share your feelings in thinking that this last-minute price hike was not ok but this is a nice watch Personally, I chose to just pay the extra cost. I like to think that at the end of the day it will be worth it once I'm enjoying the watch.

I'm in agreement. I have just confirmed with my AD whom I have the reservation that the price has been changed to $6500. The hike has definitely made me a little sour but I've decided to keep my reservation and hope I like the watch as much as the pics.

Question is: pay $6500 for this now or wait and save and get the Daytona?

I guess it depends on what one's overall collection theme is and long can one delay gratification

I'm on the fence on this one....I love this ck2998 but if a Daytona is available at MSRP and not premium in 1-2 years I think I would opt for the Daytona while I add more to the "watch fund"

AD said its on order and will be delivered by October. No deposit required. price quoted was 6500. I really like the style of this watch. black, white and a bit of red. Plus a pulsometer, makes it cool ;)

That's disappointing that this watch won't be arriving until October. I had made my payment with the idea that it was coming out this summer.

Wish the second hand was silver on this one. Nice watch, albeit more of the same.

Let's see how long it takes. Could be sooner. Did you pay full amount?

Red second hand works well I think. The leather has red stiching on the inside and looks neat. Plus the dial is gorgeous. Atleast the pictures look great.

Lets see how it looks in real.
