Professional help about buying a wallet.
Hello.
Long story short. My wife just landed her absolute dream job. She’s now the chief risk officer for an investment company located in Boston ma. As a celebration she’s going to Europe with her mom for two weeks before she starts. She told me she would buy me any wallet I want so I’m thinking France. I have in mind Louis Vuitton. Any other brands I should consider? I remember seeing goyard wallets and liking them too. Currently I have a Cartier wallet that’s been great but it’s time for something new. Please advise. Thank you. |

I have an Ettinger wallet I like quite well. Depends on the styling you’re after though. I love London Tan color and bridle hide, which is exactly what I bought with a petrol blue exterior. They have a Royal Warrant like Swaine Adeney, good stuff.
https://www.ettinger.co.uk/Product-C...let-with-6-C-C My styling is pretty subdued though, I perused Goyard, Faure le Page and LV, but that over the top branding (except LV’s epi) is the exact opposite of my entire wardrobe and general ‘Milanese’ aesthetic. If you want some more brand suggestions, which are more along the lines of what I go for, Valextra and Smythson are also good choices. |

I have quite a few wallets that I rotate — my Louis Vuitton Daimer probably gets the most use — next would be Goyard and Gucci.
I’ve found they all hold up quite well. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

If you like the pattern then goyard is great. If not go Hermès or LV.

I have all sorts of wallets, but this one is my favorite and didn’t break the bank.
Simple, small and attractive. I can’t use a fold wallet anymore. Broke my buttocks.

If Gucci did that card holder with a shark, I would be first in line to buy it. I kind of love sharks though I’m still pondering the Givenchy one.

I've found that buying Goyard in France yields significant discounts over buying in the US. That said, I find my Goyard bifold sitting in the drawer as my older LV "Multiple" wallet gets more use. The x-shaped slanted card holder is just hard to transition away from once you get used to it and the fact that you can pull a card out from inside your pocket quickly in times when you need to fight for the check. I have also purchased FLP from France, but frankly have found it to be slightly lower quality than Goyard--although I do prefer FLP's colors and patterns.

Funny to ask about professional help, I always wonder how many wallet AD's there are at TRF.

A different “class” of wallet than those listed, but I love my new Z Clip.

Like that quite a bit. How does it hold up to daily wear? So far, the only case or wallet that has lasted me more than two years is a asian buffalo Brooks Brothers case. While nice, it lacks a certain something that your LV just has.

I'm currently using a Mulberry one that my wife bought me 2/3 years ago.
I love it and it's probably my favourite wallet I've ever had. The leather it's made from is lovely.

The canvas models don’t hold up as well as the all leather models, especially on those wallets. I’m sure some others can chime in who will more than likely agree. |

I’ve had this for about 4 years and it wears great. No issues at all. I kind of wish it would wear out so I could get a new color! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |
