StockX
Just curious if anyone has bought any watches from the app StockX and if so how was your experience? Just want to know if the watches are authentic.
Thanks for the time. |

Just looked them up.
Seems too good to be true. Probably is. Nobody wants too pay too much for anything. However, there’s a bigger danger in paying too little. I’ll pass. |

Hard pass, I watched a few videos on YouTube of their “authentication” process for clothing and shoes, and was not impressed.
I like their market analysis concept, but coupled with the sales side, objectivity goes out the door. YMMV. |

Somebody on here received a watch from them (116710BLNR I think). I believe I t didn’t come w box or papers and the dial had been swapped. Their “ master watchmakers” had no clue and I believe he’s still in a fight with them

I actually toured the facility and saw the operation in action. Fairly impressive. Shoes and handbags - they got that down pretty well. Watches - eh, it’s another story.
First off - there is no indication at all what your watch will come with. Could have box/papers, maybe not. The $ back guarantee they offer is in place for just that. Second, their watch ‘team’ was a joke. One knowledgeable guy, Reg Brack (formerly of Christie’s Auctions) knows watches like the back of his hand. Flipping them is another story. There was another dude that worked there, a former strap-maker, not sure how he landed the gig. And Blake, formerly of Hodinkee. A glorified talking head, all he knows is how to write articles feeding into the ego of collectors. The business aspect of watch buy/sell/trade process completely escapes him. His attitude was shitty, he was pompous and strangely full of himself. Hopefully the team there made the right decision and removed him. All things considered, he was the one who turned me off from really delving into any kind of working relationship with them.

How could it be bad for a seller?
