Help guys in Saigon

Hi I am in Saigon, Vietnam. I found a pretty good vintage watch shop today on my sightseeing walk but there must be more. Any help on where to search would help.

I'd be very careful about buying anything Rolex in Vietnam. They are masters of fake parts and dials - and the like.

I saw a lot of gorgeous vintage in Hanoi. None of it was real. Be SUPER careful, these guys are artists. No disrespect, the fakes are very, very good, but I wouldn't want to wear one. If you find a genuine component, say, a mid-case, often the rest of the watch has found its way into many other replicas: a genuine dial to one, a winding crown to another, etc.

Was it Minh Quy's?

He does have a lot of nice stuff. But he does sell the "other" kind of stuff too. However, he keeps it separate and can be trusted.

As mentioned already Saigon is the centre of the extreme high end fake market and they can make stuff you won't believe so be very wary in other dealers.

Yes. Looked at a 6202 tropical. He seemed honest, he clearly admitted when dials were resprayed. all original 6202 was
13k usd it was a bit overpolished but otherwise ok. Any other stores ? He had a lot of Stella dials all repainted very well
but under a loupe I could tell as day dates are my interest. He also had a 5508 all original which was interesting.

There are a couple of other shops I've seen but sorry couldn't tell you where they are now, just from walking around a lot when I'm there. If you go to Ben Thanh market and ask the guys selling the fakes where the old watch shops are they'll point you in the right direction although obviously some might not be as they seem.
